Are you kidding? That "park" was an absolute dump. If I wanted to see nature decomposing, well, that is pretty much all of the Dingmans area. What we need more clearings, fields and "real" parks for kids to play in, not woods with fallen rotten trees everywhere. No swimming? Get over yourself, if it was such a beautiful summer day- let the kids enjoy it.
High taxes? You're kidding, right? Get higher than a 6th grade education, get a REAL job (not a local yokal BS Dingmans Ferry job) and you will realize taxes here are dirt cheap! That is one of the reasons we came here, but soon found out that like all things- you get what you pay for! The sooner we can leave this inbred dump of a town behind, the better!

Dont recall the commercial... First of all im not lazy, im a busy active person ass.. and yea i would love to waste my day working at parks outside, cleaning up and redoing trails. I had the chance to go to Childs Park this summer. It had been 30 years since I was last there and I was shocked at the condition of the park. I spent most of my summers in my childhood in the park as we lived about a mile up the road. The area has changed and like everything else for the worse. I will have to agree on the swimming...they enforced the rule 30 years ago...why not now?

Bob each summer it gets worse, this year there were even dogs in the water. The rangers sit in their trucks and read - what a shame!

It's not the rangers that have trucks. That's the maintenance guys, who have no law enforcement powers. In the summer, the rangers get stuck at Smithfield Beach sorting out all the illegal chili pickers and dragging dumbass busted up swimmers out from the waterfalls after they jump on rocks. 30 years ago, people respected Child's Park. Today, it's just another place for the scum to trash.

I know this is a year late, I obviously don't dwell on message boards day in and day out. Your assumptions of us couldn't be more wrong. Welfare- please, that is what we pay into so the typical DF resident can feed their family. Toothless? Really? Again, that is reserved for the natives as well.

Park for kids? Which one? The famous "Dingmans Park" that we were told was being built over 5 years ago? You know, the one that **still** is not completed (like everything else around here, our kids will be parents before it is done). There is that smaller park in Milford we go to once in a while, that is OK if you can deal with the people ignoring their children and making them your problem. We typically go to Airport Park in Matamoras- much nicer than anything local, but like everything else around here, it is a half hour drive..

The only other thing I have seen was Aknack (sp?)- umm- no thanks..

just there over weekend and its still closed and sign says reopen 2012 looks like they are going to wooden fence the park !!

You got that right!!! People have no respect for our national treasures. Go down to Kitattiny Point on a weekend. You'll see how our once beautiful nation is going in the pooper. No Mas!!!!
