You should give the Detroit Lions a call, they could use an expert in the game such as yourself.

being a team president is aloth different than playing the game and giving game analisis which he is and was great at. I will give you he might not be the best judge of talent but that has nothing to do with knowledge of the game.

I am so happy to see him back in the role of analysis. He was great at it & I really missed him on Fox/CBS when he went to Detroit... Great voice for the sport!

Playing, coaching, managing and broadcasting require entirely different skill sets. Virtually no connection between any of the two.

I have yet to see a single person master them all. Probably will never happen.

Some of the greatest players make some of the worst announcers, managers or coaches. Some of the best coaches were mediocre players at best (if they ever played at all). And some of the best team owners/managers come not from the sports world but from the business world.

Congrats to Matt. I look forward to hearing his Old School brand of football analysis in the booth again. He'll instantly make the NFL Network more relevant.

The announcing booth is a great place for him. Maybe there he can educate our youth about the evils of steroid use in sports. Right?
