I wasn't sure

" Up until May I was quiet and mellow

I didn't say a word

I was a harmless old fellow.

But right before the primary

I paid a visit to Bo

And just like the school board

He didn't understand "No."

He wound me

And thought he was funny

Never thinking I'd ask them

To show me the money.

So I wrote to the editor

A great man, indeed

Who put my letters in the paper

So that all could read.

People on the street

Tell me I'm right

But from those who oppose

Not even a sight.

They post letters on a blog

Try to bring me shame

But they don't have the guts

To tell me their names.

Hidden and secretive

Just like the facts.

Public oversight of the school board

Has obviously been lax.

A new school board we'll get.

To those who must work with them

It will seem very strange.

A Superintendent controlled board

Will never do

That is why they pushed

That new building through

So why did our school board

Use no common sense?

Is it because

our superintendent is dense?

No one can say that this man is humble
He decided to let our precious schools crumble
You wasted our time as you sit there and gloat
But you kind of forgot we all had a vote
He ran for office as the hate for him mounted
But was out of a job when the votes were counted
He even broke some laws and felt no shame
People cringe when they mention his name.
2 years ago a man walked the town
Now when he walks, his heads pointed down.

She presides over the meetings but it's just a cruel joke
While her peers sit there in silence, allowing her to choke.

Oh, those Monday night love-ins which time will soon fade,
they reminded me of sitting in...FIRST GRADE.

The auditorium was filled as she spoke down to them all,
It was then that she realized the writing was on the wall.

Sure, she safely voted "no" on the Intermediate School,
'Cause she already knew the score and everything was cool.

So hurry up they did to get that new school underway,
had to git-r-done before the incumbents were blown away.

But then even her friends began to tell her how they feel,
And many of them think she acted like a heel.

She blames the SOSers for ruining her small town life,
but it's the one in the mirror who brought on the strife.

"Remember, we're all friends", as she's often fond of saying,
Well, that may be true, but as voters, we weren't playing.
