here's mine:
1 stick butter
2 heaping Tbls flour
2 cups broth
Melt butter over medium heat in a saucepan. Stir in flour making sure all lumps are gone. Slowly pour in broth stirring continuosly. Heat while stirring until it thickens a bit and the flour taste is cooked out.
I use this sauce recipe in several different dishes - you can use chicken broth and add shredded chicken and simply pour over cornbread; you can take that a step further and add veggies for the best pot pie filling you ever ate,
It's also amazing with beef broth and poured over cubed steaks - sear them first, add cream of onion to the sauce, put mushrooms onions and bell pepper over the steaks and cover with sauce.bake at 350º for thirty to forty mins.
