HSUS should campaign for a "Free Range Pet Law."
Here in NYC dogs and cats are trapped in appartments for 23+ hours each day. Both being natural ranging animals, any owner who does not provide a .75 acre area for free ranging to their pets should not be allowed to have them.
Power to the pets!

FYI steroids are not proteins (these are four-ringed lipids, the are unrelated to proteins) and some are orally bioactive.

You need to do some research. First off, chickens are not injected with steroids. The poultry industry uses selective breeding to grow chickens larger. Second, let's humor you hypothetically say that poultry are injected with steroids. News flash, steroids are proteins, proteins are made up of amino acids, amino acids are formed using peptide bonds. Common biology people. The stomach breaks down the amino acids and the small intestines absorbes what is useful. Thus, if you somehow managed to get ahold of a piece of chicken that had been injected with steroids, your body would simply break it down into the seperate amino acids, and digest it. It would do absolutely NOTHING to you!

Now that all the rhetoric has been spoken, and the signs are dissaparing, the only apparent result of this whole issue is that it has created more and bigger government. Thats what was the target, and its a bullseye! Business as usual.
