Alexandria Ohio is one of the last places I would ever imagine this happening. This is a small close knit village, where everyone knows everyone. If this is true it makes me very sad.

1 Unfortunately one year this same thing happened when I was a youngster. From that year on, no more homemade candy (I remember popcorn balls, candy apples, carmel apples, anise, cookies, chocolate dips, even beverages). Oh how I miss those days. I wish kids got to experience when neighbors actually made the foods. Everyone's candies were different. Now every house is shelf-bought. No real 'assortment' like in my day. enough said,... 1)It doesn't matter the size of a community for this to happen. I know it's a common misunderstanding that "THESE THINGS HAPPEN IN THE BIG CITY BUT NOT HERE IN CORN-TOWN". Truth is, big city folk move into and through our 'little communities' every day. Thus, that 'BIG CITY' stuff is arriving each day into your and my little communities. Some of these new neighbors may be moving into our towns because they needed to start over. However, most are legitimate and wonderful people. 2)Aside from #1 above, this is likely one of two things. The first being someone with a mental illness and doesn't consider (at all) the ramifications of such an action. Let's pass the possibility of a child dying. Instead, let's look at what happens to the integrity of the innocent night of candy. Now, that community will NEVER be able to forget it too has these risks. Thus, a historical change has just occurred from one mentally challenged person. The second point being of someone that simply wants attention. Again, not considering the ramifications of such an action. Even if the medicine didn't make the child ill or die. These people are just as scary as those with mental illness (#1 above). But these people can understand their actions have ramifications. Thus, no matter what, this little ditty this person did by implanting medicine or (drugs) into a child's candy can and should be gone after with iron-fist justice to make a stern and forceful point to safeguard you and I. Anything less than a full investigation and (if found) felony charges would be an injustice to us as community members. In closing let me say if someone knows who did this and is reading this, no matter if a child gets ill or dies, let's assume no one gets sick or dies,... you, sir / ma'am are a coward b*stard and you are easily just as responsible for such acts and I hope you (too) are charged. Typically I do not use such stern words. However, I felt compelled to 'express' myself in this post. To those of you reading this, I am sorry if you took offense. As most of you know i'm rather a humble person that is open minded and patient in the legal process. Until I read this in the news. Warmest Wishes, Marysville |

OMG..........THATS CRAZY!

I think this is seriously sad. It is trick-or-treat parents should not have to worry about their kids being poisoned and people should not want to hurt children! It is so sad that we have to worry about things like this! People should just be good and wholesome and do unto others and you would have them do to you! This makes me never want my child to enjoy something that is supposed to be fun like trick or treating!

I find it very hard to believe that someone in Alexandria would do this. I think someone is just trying to get attention. How sad. Next year, they'll trick or treat in their own neighborhood huh??

1 I am betting that the parent that took their child to this area (in which they didn't even live) is up to no good and did this on their own- a common attempt made at food establishments. I can smell a lawsuit in the making. |

Mike, I am grown up enough to try and make this world a better place, maybe you should act like an adult and try instead of putting down those who are trying to do better. |
