I don't know about the intentions of this particular family, but it is well documented that under Muslim law the penalty for apostasy is death.

Could the "Censorship" be to control Her from alerting "Outside" People to what is going on?

And if she is 17 why can't she file for divorce from her parents sighting irreconcilable differences?

The girl was allowed to be a cheerleader, so pretty sure her parents are not extremist Muslims.

She sounds like she has some mental health problems and was trying to get attention - in other words a pretty typical American kid these days.

also, there are no incidents, reports or facts to back up her claims. NONE. the guy who lured her away from her parents is the one who should be investigated!

I think it's ironic this girl is now going to be "punished" because she was afraid of her family and did something about it!?! My heart goes out to her. She needs some stable adults in her life -first living in fear of her father and THEN to be sucked in by the loony pastor in FL...

Some people have called her a "drama queen" but I have a teenage daughter and aren't they ALL "drama queens" at this age??! My daughter has a Muslim friend and I don't know ALL the details of their faith, BUT I have SOME clue about how strict it is, how seriously they take their beliefs and how Muslim women are treated/viewed. Thus, given what I DO know, I totally believe Bary was sincerely afraid of her father.

And whether or not she has "proof" of the possible threats on her life, if she FELT afraid, then she WAS afraid! No one can know -- except her and her father. And does anyone honestly BELIEVE the father would come out and say "Oh, yeah, I threatened to kill my daughter for becoming a Christian"??!! Be real!!! OF COURSE he's going to say he NEVER would do that or threaten her!! DUH!

It seems unfathomable to me that a parent might harm their own child but then all I have to do is take a step back and think about how seriously Muslims tend to be about their faith. Some so seriously that they'll become suicide bombers! And I don't mean to single out Muslims -- there are loony Christians out there too that will kill in the name of God. All I'm saying is that alot of Muslims are MUCH more committed to their religion (admirably so in most cases) BUT that will also mean they need to "adhere" to their religious beliefs/laws -- which MIGHT mean killing their daughter if she turned her back on their faith.... Just never know...

Hopefully she finds a wonderful foster family and SOMEONE protects her so that she's able to live her life the way she chooses and NOT in fear!

lostachild is very correct,Muslims are very serious about their faith, and I wish Christians were as faithful with theirs.

Their are many Christians out here that follow God and does his will everyday, we read His word and pray often,I do believe this child if she had stayed with her family she would no doubt now be dead,or be hurt seriously in some way by her family. She was in danger not just from her father, but from any male members of the family who would have believed she must die because of turning her back on their religeon!

I Praise God, that she found God and hope she stay's firm in her belief!

As for those out their that doesn't put their faith in the true God of America, I fear for you! America is changing in ways that it was talked of in the Bible.

I pray for America to turn to God in this time of confusion,and I will be praying for this young girl to live a life faithful to God!

Of course the 700 club appearances will come a few years after the Playboy pictorial, the fruitful career at Hooter's and a short lived attempt in the porn industry.

I'm sick of this runaway teenager and her drama. Now she's taking tax dollars to be placed in a foster home. And the foster care system wants more money to take in more stupid cases. This is stupidity at it's finest!
