This is a serious waste of time. The privately owned museum with I-69-adjacent location couldn't draw enough consumers to support the cost to keep that facility open. Organizers are naive to think that off-the-beaten-path Fairmount will be able to do better with a facility that will cost thousands more a month to operate than the newly constructed, moderate in size James Dean Gallery that recently closed.

Let's be real, waste of money. Dean was NOT that great or even good for that matter, what did he do........3 movies? BFD. Hardly anybody gives a hoot about him, before he died he should have been arrested for overacting. This guy was 100 times worse than Bruce Willis for that!

Wow... an expert has spoken. My admiration!
Not only was he arrogant, gay, sulen, anti-social, irresponsible and rude, but he was not even a good actor, for that matter. And hardly anybody gives a hoot about him... Mr(s). Dead Rapper seems to know what (s)he is speaking about - wouldn't you like to write another biography of Dean, being such a subject matter expert?

My family is originally from the Fairmount area (many still live there). I wonder why Fairmount has never tried to capitalize the fact that Jim Davis (writer of the Garfield comic series) is from there? He has contributed so much more than some dead to young, never did anything great punk that should have been forgotten many years ago. His movies were horrible and he was nothing more than a hood.

Hey, if you people don't like James Dean then why dont you just keep your mouths shut.

I am a big fan of Dean's like many others. I look up to him: artist to artist. He was a great actor, but much more than that.

He was a photographer, painter, sculpture, artist, poet, bullfighter, dancer, musician and he followed his dream and didn't let anyone stop him.

He also said some of the most memorable quotes that ive ever heard.

If you people dont like Dean, thats fine, you dont have to, but many people do so you dont have to put him down.

No actor can ever be like James Dean, whoever said he overacts is probably overacting right now.

James Dean was not only a great actor of his time and ours! He also had a heart of gold, he loved children and animals. He was a true humanitarian. I think people should try harder to preserve his greatness and restore the memories of him. What if James Dean had a son and his family were to read this? How would they feel to hear you talking so badly about him? Oh right No on cares! What about Marcus and the cousins? All very nice people. I have met them. I am very shocked that Fairmount, IN is not a huge town by now. If I had my way' I would be building hotels and help the Dean family build there memories of James. And all the famous people who ever lived in Fairmount and the surrounding area.

I visited Fairmount, and I thought the people were the nicest. I was told that each year more and more people choose to visit Fairmount because of James Dean. He is growing in popularity because he was a good man. I hope powerful people begin to invest in remembering our past. James Dean is a wonderful place to start. And don't think James won't know how you feel about him. He may have died in 1955. But he will continue to live on forever! In spirit. And in our hearts. If I had the money I would be building ways to keep this legend remembered and celebrated for future generations.

Peace,
AD

YOur right. I'm 45 and I'd love to spend a few days with him in the tall grass.... If only he'd lived a little longer. At least we had Paul Newman so long....

I can not believe people are on here talking so rudely about James Dean, he was an amazing man, and how dare you talk about him like that. Do not post on a James Dean board if you do not like him, do you have nothing better to do??????????

James Dean's performance as Cal in East Of Eden rates as one of the greatest performances of any actor period.

oooooooohhhhhhh! Great comback. Why don't you stfu and start your own board before you start telling others what they can and can't post. Dean DID suck. Moody, melodramatic, mountain out of a molehill beeatch. Always moaning about something. HE INVENTED THE WORD OVERACTING.

So much hostility! Enough to make 3 different posts...in the same day. I think you must like Jimmy to take all the time and energy you did to post that. Only a Dean fan would. Actually, all you did was prove Pats point correct. People who know nothing often have the biggest mouths. And yours by far is the biggest!

Daily Horoscope for December 1

Pisces

Try to improve your health by incorporating good habits into your daily routine; if you sit at a desk all day long, find ways to stretch your muscles while you are seated. Since the December holidays are almost upon us, it is a good idea to increase your consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. Before you know it, you will be tempted to eat nothing but rich, fat-laden foods; set some good habits now before you no longer fit into your holiday outfits.
