Wow, suspended sentence. He's a cop. They said he should be held to a higher standard then give him a minimum sentence like that? Tell me that the system isn't broken!

The taxpayers will continue to fund this guy's benefits and retirement.
Typical treatment of a member of government.

This is sad - I remember girls being warned about this man 15+ years ago. 2 years suspended and retiring with all benefits?

Why has Alex turned a blind eye for so many years? I understand that there will always be rumors, but these were warnings to us so long ago - that this one particular officer liked to stop teenage girls. This only supports those warnings of back when.

How do we know that this wasn't one of those sting operations where the prostitute was offered money and when the prostitute accepts she is busted? Maybe the accused was working without backup. We see this type of law enforcement crap involving entrapment happening on our television everyday. I am sick of the predatory nature of our law enforcement. The cops hide in the bushes trying to ticket us for speeding, they have put up cameras at intersections, etc. When did the police become a revenue enhancement arm of the government? When did buying sex become a crime? The selling of sex is the oldest profession in the world. We all buy sex, just that some of us do by taking someone to dinner or buying some trinket. We give something other than money directly to the sexee so that the sexer doesn't appear to buying the sex from the sexee. What's the difference?

Why should he be held to a higher standard. By law, we are all held to the same standard. If you don't like our legal system, go someplace else.

What a slap on the wrist. Sounds like Chief Jack Malston was on Santos pay roll. I wound what Old Santos was “DOING” for jack to keep his Pension and health benefits. It nice when cops stick together like that. Dose him at lest have to register as a sex a finder or did the chief fix that problem too.

He should be held to a higher standard because he has a fiduciary duty to the public. He is entrusted with ensuring public safety. In addition to the harm he caused this teenager, he harms society by casting doubt on the reputability of our government. A felon collecting government benefits is wrong.

Glad you folks up North get to pay his pension and health insurance and not us country folks. That's quite a sweetheart deal. He must have done a lot of "Favors" for people over the years.....

We have female teachers molesting kids, lawyers drunk driving, pro athletes acting like complete jerks, and now cops playing teenager. Look inward and be parents to your kids. You're all you have these days.

Who died and left you in charge to tell people if they dont like it here find some where else. Nothing like a crooked cop covering for another. It is no wonder we have the crime we have today it includes the crime commited by those trusted to enforce it. What a joke what kind of a standard are you sitting for those young people growing up today there suppose to look up to you, you want them to trust you and you refuse to sit out those in your ranks that are commiting crimes bull bull and bull!!!!!

That is absolutely not true. there are many crimes that have differing degrees of culpability and severity depending on who the offender is. Those is a position of authority are almost always held to higher, more strict statutes for the same offense than the rest of us.

Is he going to have to register as a sex offender? Nope. Here we have the double standard of justice at play again. One set of punishments for the average Joe and another for the law enforcement establishment. If this had been anyone other than a cop they'd be behind bars.

Because, idiot, that is what the article said. Police are suppose to set an example, do call what he did an example to others? I'll pray for you!

a few months ago the star reported a case in spiceland where a police officer was sentenced to 15 years for video taping consenual sex he had with someone who was 17. this particular sentence doesn't seem fair compared to what the cop in spiceland got.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Cancer

You may not be privy to every little thing that's going on around you, but so what? Crabs can't always be in control, but you don't need to feel insecure, either. Thanks to your electronic devices, you appear to be a little godlike to those who don't have the same access as you do at the moment. Just make sure that you memorise the important stuff in case the system goes down.
