Albion prison worker charged in sex case

I spent a couple of years at Albion and never went back but I won't sit here and agree with the insane accusations I am reading about all the officers. Yes sex happens and I can say from experience it happens willingly 99.9 percent of the time and I only leave room for error not because I know of it ever being a rape situation. Almost all of the officer's are very professional and the ones that aren't have their groupies. there is no need for rape SOME inmates are practically throwing it at them. Some of the finest men I have ever met were CO's at Albion and I even missed them a little bit. I do not miss the hateful ones who treat us like shit for no reason. they chose those jobs and yeah I fucked up but Im doing my time and obeying every rule at the prison so I don't expect special treatment just humane.(past tense) The biggest point is the lack of programs and education at Albion I am fortunate enough that it wasn't an issue for me but I had to help many women with the most simple tasks. They cannot read or write. We are all not scum bags some of us truly made bad decisions and it can happen to anyone.As far as trouble making inmates they get handled one way or another, believe that there are times the CO's "ask" inmates to teach troublemakers the easier way to jail. Since I am not there I cannot say the accusations are false, anything is possible but I doubt it. I have read every comment on this subject and am shocked at all the conflictions. If you don't know what prison is like than leave it alone you're not missing anything. If you area family member than of course support your loved one but look with open eyes at all the complaints they are making I mean it is prison and trust me it's not that bad(condition wise) Bedford Hills is another story..I'm only willing to comment on Albion.I am trying to figure out why some people in here are so invested in making comments Be happy you have you're freedom and go do something good with it.You're not changing DOCS, not even a little bit.

i can't believe this i know a female inmate that can't get enough sex in the prison and yes she was in albion and know she is in taconic thinking she is going to get work released and then be paroled to a married man but that is not happening the reason she is not being paroled is because she got caught smoking in her room and giving a male visitor a b**w j*b in the visitors area how smart is that

OK Brian I guess you know what prisons are all about...Sorry we dont. If asking a question was to much for you or anyone else to answer for me then why the hell is there this chat site????? I wish the prison would go away. This town is not even a town anymore. Its a shell and inside the shell are nothing but pathetic low lives who are here for their people in our prison. They live for free in the town and are no better than the ones on the inside. This place bites balls!

I've been a guard for a few years now.. reading these post are kinda comical, because they are far from the truth!

WHAT?!!!! i dont get the lie there are no honor floors what are the housing units a b and c? and mess hall workers are mostly L1 and L2 if you lie about a housing unit what else would you lie about??????????

Just in case you didn't know, it is a crime in New York State law for a correctional officer to have any sexual contact with a inmate ( even when it is consentual). Correctional facilities are supposed to be the caretakers of those within their walls, not the abusers.

The whole system is corrupt.

The best thing for people to do is stop committing crimes. Period.

You have to remember that Prisons are BIG Businesses now. They NEED inmates.

Inmates are crucial to keep dinner on the plates of all those prison guards who scream into this County at 99 mph to get here, and then leave the county as fast as they can to get home to get thier first swig of beer.

You committ a crime and get yourself in prison, well, then what do you expect. All the guards have to do is to pass a test. Come one Come all.... no education required.

I spent a significant amount of time in albion. I kept my head down, my mouth shut and stayed out of trouble. However the things I witnessed still give me nightmares 10 years later. The co's are cocky masoganistic men and the women co's are just as bad. There are racial issues, issues with gangs, bribery, rape, murder and pure and simple mistreatment of human beings. When I got out I swore I would go to the newpapers and report the things that I had seen and heard but decided against it as I had put my family through quite enough and wanted to let it go and forget. I am regretting that decision now as it seems things have gotten worse. I have been out for over 10 Years and still have trouble maintaining decent jobs because if you tell the truth, you will not get hired, regardless of what the law says and if you lie, eventually the truth will come out which is exactly what happened to me after working at a job for over 4 years they realized they never did a backround check on me and when they did, they fired me!! After 4 years of honest, excellent service. what a world we live in!!

Prisons are only good to hire the people who got "C" s all the way through High school and who otherwise would have to work at Walmart. Like the old saying goes.... The State requirement for a C.O is a warm body and a heart beat...and someone fool enough to waste their years away watching inmates and hoping they don't get a good case of TB while they are there.
