Are Americans really safer now?

We are not in any more danger now than before,we are now more paranoid due to the talking heads in Washington looking for more ways to control the public(1984). All these "safeguards" only
hinder the people that obey the laws, true lawbreakers will not play by the laws. Like the old saying if you outlaw gun only outlaws will have them. Just remember this is a republic not a true democracy. We live here now we have a chance for a change maybe we can get the warlords out of washington.

Well, what ever happened to all of those "Orange Alerts" that we had every month from 2001-2004? They all just went away.

It is fear, we went from a nation that embraced "There is nothing to fear except fear itself."

Then again, we are not as strong as we think we are... try getting a rare hamburger in a restaurant! We are terrified of germs, and the sun, and various other things that are just foolish!

Where do you get your sense of importance that anyone would want to wiretap you, view your bank account information, or care what you books you read from the library. Do you think the FBI and the CIA cares how your Aunt Ethel enjoyed the Kung Po Chicken last night, do you think they want to hear your heavy breathing as you call 1-900 sex lines. I don't think so. However, if there were a lot of phone calls received and made from Kabul, Damascus and Khartoum......yes the government would have a legitimate interest. Same thing if you were receiving bank drafts from Somalia...I think the government would have and interest.....AS THEY DARN WELL SHOULD!!!!! So where the heck are all these flagrant abuses? You say they're everywhere and well known to all. Perhaps you can point to a few of them. Knock off the left wing garbage and get grounded in reality.
