When did a contractor ever do a job without a signed contract?

Wow! This guy has a track record, alright!! I wouldn't have him do work on my shed!!!I hope these people who had the roof put on does NOT pay him! He also has been arrested for insurance fraud!! Not "trustworthy" in the least!!

I think they should come to a price agreement. After all they did need a new roof and if all they could find wrong are a few nails which could be easly repaired then it's a win win for both of them.

Actually the entire roof may need to be re-done. If the roof was deemed Good, I would have already worked something out with Brian. It appears that the most important part (the ice shield) was installed improperly or the roll was "split". Also we never had a chance to have any other roofing contractors come in and look at the roof.
Just a few more facts that weren't included:
No permit was ever registered with the village
No proof of insurence
No warentee/no gurantee
No paperwork was ever issued at all

I would like to go to Disney World. Does that mean I am going to be surprised with a charge on my credit card? No signed contract is no deal. If I am understanding this correctly they were not even home when this guy went on the roof and started work. Unbelievable!!!!

Where does this guy get off coming and putting a roof on a house when the people ain't even home. Does he not understand that when you are a business person, you must get everything in writing???????? He is unbelievable.. He needs to learn better business practices, like making sure you have the permits needed and giving in the writing the guarantees and warranties, if he wants to stay in business. I wouldn't let me him put a roof on my dog house. He needs to get it thru his head, that you must always have it in writing. Have the customer sign giving you the authority to do the work, before you take it upon yourself to did on your own. Make sure they are there when the work is being done... He needs to smartin up!!!

This contractor needs to be stopped. I myself was taken by him - he never completed the job, said he's mail the contract and never did....after we realized what happened there was nothing we could do without a contract. This has happened to MANY people (see www.wnyhandyman.com ) so obviously it was no accident. I can cut my losses but this home owner should in NO WAY have to pay for that roof -- ESPECIALLY to know there are problems. BML needs to be stopped!!!!

Quality roof ... the materials maybe.
Quality installation ... cutting corners don’t think so.
Bargain basement price ... doesn’t sound like they were able to get an quotes to find out.

If you know anybody who needs a roof please let then know NOT TO USE BML CONTRACTING...... he is nothing more then a scam arstist and if you see him ket him know this.. This guy will be stopped if we all use word of mouth and spread the word..BML(Brian Lornec) is a scam arstist. A smooth talker mabey but no victum.

Was this guy referred? Did he just do their friends place? Were the people happy with the uninsured price? Many people want things for nothing, thinking that they could just do the thing on the weekend, but don't have the time. You get what you pay for, and they got it for free, and now Brian owes a the bill. He might be as shady as they come, but this home ownwer sounds like it too.

Brian Lornec (BML) is a scam artist. He promised to install gutter guards as part of my signed contract and never showed. One day I saw his truck in our area and had to block his truck with my car and threaten him with the IRS. He finally installed them that day and the next wind storm they all came down.Haven't been able to reach him since. But I will and when I do.

i think it is terrible that people can get away with this. the contractor did the job and they should pay. if they were getting estimates, then they were planning on having it done. the contractor should take them to court.these people should be embarrised and feel like thieves.

I realize under a typical situation, this may be the case, but this is not. This contractor rarely uses contracts - says he'll mail them and they never come, then he does partial work, or gets the downpayment and does no work. This couple just want the roof for free.Did they attempt to stop the roofers from finishing the roof? No. Do an investigation with these roofers to see if she was home that day. Betcha she was and let them go ahead and do the roof. If I were any contractor out there and this family called to get work done on their house, refuse the job. Now that everyone knows their names and what they look like, WATCH OUT IF THEY CALL YOU WANTING WORK DONE ON THEIR HOUSE!!! Contractors be warned!!!!

This family who had the work done sounds like the scam artists...

If this family was so brilliant, they would have researched the contractor before they even called him. They got what they deserve - No warranty and a roof that will need replacing real soon and this time they will have to pay the contractor if any contractor will even touch their house. This sends a warning to contractors that this could happen to you if you deal with this couple. They agreed on the work to be done and the color of the shingles...Just wanted it for free.

Of course another contractor is going to come in and say the roof work isn't acceptable.This is Buffalo - they want the business!!

They were 90% complete by the time she came home for lunch? What time was her lunch -6pm? They had to tear off the old roof and reshingle the entire roof. That take time...Something stinks with their story. i think Channel 4 should investigate this couple. Something just is not right. If they can have the roof done by the time she got home for lunch, then there is a real glitch in their story. let me guess, she then said, OH Please stop shingling the roof!! Whatever...Investigate further...More to follow.
