Child rape case gets big time attention

My grandmother, Annie Mae McIntosh, born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, now Bixby, and for whom McIntosh County was named, was very proud of her heritage and roots in Oklahoma. My cousin, Chief “Dode” McIntosh, was held in high regard and respected during his lifetime in Oklahoma. I have visited Oklahoma a few times, was impressed with the people, and communities. I have researched Oklahoma for over twenty years, reviewed statistics and have grown very fond of the state. I was born in California, raised here and reared our children here. I have worked in county government for twenty two years and my fondest desire was for my husband and me to invest early in Oklahoma real estate for our retirement. Unfortunately, we are reconsidering our plans because of the detestable case regarding rapist David Harold Earls, Judge Thomas Bartheld and his crony DA Jim Bob Miller. The only conclusion that we have on this is that Mr. Bartheld and Mr. Miller are both pedophiles themselves. I pray that this case goes to the governor of Oklahoma and then on to the attorney general for investigation. We thought that California was bad...it appears that your government has superseded ours. You make San Francisco blush! Unless, justice is served and Mr. Earls, Mr. Bartheld and Mr. Miller are put away, we MIGHT reconsider our plans. In the meantime, make no mistake...we will be the voice of those contemplating investing in Oklahoma. The shame that you have brought on your state is appalling!

Should have had the judge in Las Vegas he/she just sentances a child rapest to 144 yrs.
Chester Stiles thinks he did nothing wrong since the victim who was 2 at the time can't remember the assault this scumabg video taped.

I have lived two thirds of my life here and I am not amazed at anything that happens in Little Dixie; especially the courts. O' is a big time supporter of Jessica's Law and Geraldo is a sensationalist, not a real reporter.

You have to remember that if the case had gone to trial, the child would have been subjected to cross examination by the defense attorney and that would likely have been more traumatic than the event that brought them all to court.

The Judge and the DA could have done a much better job of protecting the rights of this child and in my opinion the mother should be investigated harshly.

O' said he would get Brad Henry n the show next week and he also called for "the attorney general" to investigate the case.

Oklahoma passed it's own version of Jessica's Law in 2007; instead of mandatory 25 years in prison an offender will get "lifetime monitoring".

We need to crank it up by putting pressure on our lawmakers.

The people in District 18 must remember this when Judge Bartheld and DA Miller come up for re election.

By God, Let him sensationalise it!!!!

Make a huge deal out of this atrocity.

msbobbie. You are so so wrong. Modern day courts dont allow harmful cross examination of children under the age of 13. They are allowed cross examination via close circuit TV and it is done in a manner that is not adding more trauma. For Gods sake where are you people from?????

its needs to be a big case until they get rid of these idiots. besides bartheld looks a little suspicious to me , like we will see his pic one day on the same type of case and to top it off ...a district attorney named jim bob? could this get any worse......poor children are the ones having to leave there home. well jim bob is not a true represenative of oklahoma , we would try to protect our children. pittburgh county on a whole has a bad track record on defending children anyway..anyhow thanks bartheld and jim bob you will be heroes to all the child molesters you bass turds

I think we may be kin, My grandmothers name was ruby c mcintosh, and we were also kin to dode mcintosh. I also have family in california. Could we be family. My mothers name was ella "josephine". I will check back to see if you will reply

I'm glad and grateful to Bill OReilly and Geraldo Rivera for bringing this to the nation's attention. For far too long Oklahoma has been rated as one of THE worst states for protecting our children. My own granddaughter was abused twice and the DA has refused to prosecute. I pray for that poor child in McAlester as well as all the children of our state. I pray too, that our elected officials will finally change our laws! This monster getting by with serving only l year is despicable.

Pittsburg County Courts are so corrupt. It all depends on how much you want to spend as to what you will get out of your case... trust me, Bartheld was my judge. It's time that he and the rest of the attorneys get what they deserve.

There was a judge somewhere who took bribes from a paid jail for kids to make sure defenders were sentanced to jail terms some for very minor crimes(shoplifting) now those kids can sue that county and state for big bucks.
And the judges involved have been arrested so judges can be corrupted and are not above the law.

The system is broken some what but it's all we have so we have to fight for the kids as they have no voice.

both bartheld & miller should be disbarred. ive seen sexual abusers not even go to trial even after severe physical scarring was discovered. it seems our judicial system ignores & disregards those less fortunate or impoverished. ive seen it happen too many times. i pray someone does something about the self-serving idiots we have in our judicial system. they need to go & cry while golfing at the local country club. maybe they can find employment there...thats who they serve anyway....the wealthy. its a shame the little 5 yr old couldnt have been wealthy to bartheld standards...maybe then in his eyes she would have been "worthy" of justice.

I am a resident Pittsburg co i am totally shock and outrage of this whole out come of injustice and corruption in Mcalester and the entire Government we as Oklahoman and resident need to put a stop with this injustice and corruption with the polictical leadership all they do is abuse power and using our tax dollar as there own piggybank.

I wonder how much the tax payers paid for the plastic cows horses and cowbys? oh, and a dog. It sure was need, a better and safer entrance to tandy town would have been a better use for the money

wow what a bunch of gobbly gook bullshit backtalk this entire article was...let me see if i get this straight, they said the little girl could testify on closed circuit then changed their minds and had her testify in the courtroom and she fidgeted and stood on the desk and at one point walked out the door, of course she did...she's 5 yrs old and was raped by the man in the courtroom...there have been infants raped and their rapists got more time than this guy did, now will Earls be out and 6 months for good behavior then he'll have to rape another girl before he goes to jail and if he keeps raping young girls like this one then he may never go back to prison...ugghh this makes me sick to my stomach, no wonder why so many abuse victims don't come forward, what is the point if their abuser may just be living with them again in a few months...how horrendous
