Walter T Pittman

We have been searching for Walter Pittman (Nancy Pittman's son) for 2 years. Some search entries show him living in Waterville; some show him in Portland, and others show completely different states.
He is an official missing person.(age-29) If you have any information please contact Nancy at fivecats55@Yahoo.com. Walter's father will not respond to any inquiries by Walter's mother nor will be respond to any inquiries by law enforcement- both from out of state and local Waterville Police. Please help! This entire situation has been heartbreaking for the mother.

His father is Thane Pittman who teaches Psychology at Colby College. He has Walter's contact information but will not respond to anyone. It is urgent that the son contact his mother. He has the information.

Once again, I fail to understand the cruelty and selfishness in this so-called family. Neither of her adult children appear to give a damn about her. Almost all of the women near her age in the shelter are helped to get out by their family members. We are not talking about children here. Walter is 29 and Kathleen is 31. Mom needs to be given the money her son took from her.

The mother is also facing the attorney and the stalking on her own- I help as best I can. But where is the Son who should be helping Mom?

Mom tells me that Katie emails her once in a great while but refuses to give her her son's address so she can contact him.

Mom says that her daughter tells her that her son does not want to be in touch with her. She is deeply hurt by this- apparently they went through quite a traumatic experience together-and she does not understand why he won't contact her. Apparently they had made promises to each other which he violated.

I understand why the son does not want Mom to know where he is: It is called GREED and SELF-INTEREST.

Mom also told me her daughter told her she needed to be in a hospital. I find that despicable. The girl/woman(?) has not seen her mother in over 5 years, never visited her after her parents' died though she was but an hour away, and does not know her.

The Mom does see a therapist/Dr. Yesterday he told her that she is not mentally disabled in any way but is normal in an abnormal situation with exceptional stressors. The daughter tells the mom she needs a state hospital. The entire game is sickening.

The daughter refuses to give the mother the son's address because the daughter is worried that her brother will become angry with her. Appalling.
Everyone should have everyone's information,period.

The Mom wants to see her son. Why? I ask her. If I were this young man's father and he did this to his mother, I would have him prosecuted. But apparently in this so-called "family" the mother has been tossed into the garbage pail of human waste.

Also, the mother is only one of the good Professors numerous sequential wives.

So- to those who know Dr. Thane Pittman, give him a call and nudge him along toward practicing what he preaches....communication.

My second comment was deleted. Why? The Mom is afraid to speak up so I am speaking up for her.

The son sold property belonging to both him and his mother 50-50. I saw the will of the grandfather.

The son made off with some $167,000 while the mom is trapped in one of the worst shelters in this state- living with sex offenders, addicts, alcoholics, mentally ill, and other unfortunates like herself who her "family" threw in the trash heap once they used her for her money.

The son owes the mother 80,000 minimum. I keep telling her to press charges. Heck, the kid has not even contacted her in two years, and she spends so much time worrying about him, it's sickening.

The daughter is a real piece of work, too. She only rarely contacts the mother and gives her fake addresses etc. She refuses to give her own mother her brother's address. What a lovely young lady she must be.

I tell Nan to stop wanting any contact with these two moral derelicts. Neither of them obviously gives a damn about her. She would be wise to prosecute her beloved son for the $80,000 he stole.

If you remove my comment I want to know wny. I know this lady and what she has een through. She is a wonderful, loving lady and does not deserve what her son and daughter have heaped on her.

Shame on "walter". He should be seeking his mother's welfare. He knows exactly what she is going through and he leaves it all on her shoulders.

So "walter"- leave a comment will you? At least your mom will stop pestering me about helping her to locate you and your sister. If I were her, I'd go straight to the prosecutor and YOU would be in jail for theft.

Don, I know you care very much about the mother and have seen the situations she has had to deal with without any funds or any family. I didn't know she was owed $80,000. From all my talks with her, I do think she trusted her son far too much and did not realize that there was manipulation of her feelings going on when she was in a very vulnerable state.
Don-why don't you write to the father. I know the mom won't do it because the father has been so cruel in the past- told her that he would have her arrested for harrassment when all she wanted to know was where her son was. I've read some of his research studies and it is interesting that they seem to focus on how to manipulate people in relationships and such. I imagine he practices what he preaches. I checked him out and he appears to be quite well known in his field.

Its surprising to me that someone who is so advanced in studying "the human animal" as he worded it, does not understand that a mother would want to see her son, especially after all they went through without any support or help.

I've talked to Mom, and to me, the sale of the beach property is.....fishy. The grandfather clearly intended for his daughter to have the property-at least half of it. She told me that she and her son had sworn to each other never to sell it. Again, was she manipulated? Did the son think the mother wouldn't care? Did he- knowing she was homeless- think she did not need any money?
The father- Dr. Pittman- must have condoned the sale. I wonder why he hates his exwife so much. Rather- it goes beyond hate and merges into sadism.
The mom feels that he has also told her daughter to stay away. The daughter actually thought the Mom needed a state hospital when the Mom is going for interviews as a counselor!
This is one of the most tragic family situations I've known throughout my life.
But, to be practical, mom needs the money. So Don, do you think you could explain to the father the truth of the matter? Perhaps a visit is in order. The mom does not want to go. She wants nothing to do with the father whatsoever.He and the attorney - and the son and the daughter-appear to have allied against her. But if her son is living there and she wants to see him we'll have to encourage her to join us.Frankly, if I were her I would NOT want to see the young man until he apologized and paid her back. And the daughter- forget it. She is the key to this entire mess.

Does anyone there in Waterville know this young man and/or his father and know what is going on? Something just does not sound right here. A son selling property he swore to keep in the family....a mother in a homeless shelter, owed $80,000 probably much more?A father who teaches human communication but avoids a simple question from his exwife? A daughter who does not see her mother for numerous years and yet won't help the mom reach the son? I smell MONEY......

We'll see what we can do to help you make a trip to Waterville to speak with the professor. We understand he researches issues like social justice, morals and such. Certainly such an esteemed professor should have no difficulty providing his son's address and phone number. We think waiting over 2 years for such common information is ludicrous.

HE SOLD THEIR(beach property) UNITS AT ROTON POINT- WHICH HE HAD SWORN NEVER TO DO- HAD SWORN DIRECTLY TO HIS GRANDFATHER AND MOTHER. HE SOLD NAN'S SHARE AS WELL AS HIS OWN AND HAS NOT CONTACTED HER IN 2 YEARS. HE TELLS PEOPLE IN MAINE, WHERE HE LIVES OFF HIS MOM'S MONEY, THAT NAN IS DECEASED.

THANE PITTMAN- NAN'S LONG AGO EX HUSBAND- WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANY CALLS OR CONTACT OF ANY KIND FROM HER OR FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT. MR. PITTMAN TEACHES PSYCHOLOGY AT COLBY COLLEGE IN WATERVILLE MAINE.

NAN'S DAUGHTER HAS NOT SEEN HER SINCE BEFORE HER PARENTS PASSED AWAY. THE FATHER TELLS THE DAUGHTER THAT 'MOM' IS SCHIZOPHRENIC OR WORSE.

THIS IS A HORRIBLE SITUATION WHICH CAN ONLY BE RECTIFIED THROUGH THE LEGAL SYSTEM. Is that system corrupt? HOW DOES SHE STAND A CHANCE AGAINST A HIGH-POWERED LEGAL TEAM IN DARIEN. ALL SHE HAS IS THE TRUTH.

Sadly, the only solution I see at this point is for Mom to travel to Waterville or to ask the police in Waterville to discuss the location of her son with her ex husband.She tried that 2 years ago and the father blew them off, threatening to charge the mom with harrassment.

However, legally Walter is using the father's address to receive mail. Perhaps he lives there, although that is dubious. Perhaps he lives on the father's boat.Either way, the father could be in legal trouble himself if he does not comply with law enforcement.
It does not make sense that this Professor Of Psychology would leave mom in the dark over 2 years about their son. Even if Walter does not want to talk to his mother- and he may well not wish to - given that he stole everything she had-I and my husband feel it is his duty as a Father to ease his ex's worry and concern.

Walter or anyone who knows his address please contact Mom at two zero three siz four zero nine eight zero eight

This young man appears to be amoral.I do not think the daughter is the center of this issue; I believe it is the manipulative son and equally manipulative father. They were once estranged- now they are a tag-team.

The mom is moving and has no interest in searching for her son anymore. She told me that it is up to him- she is fed up and has enough difficulties of her own. Said a mother's day card would be nice but will never arrive.

No one really knows how the son feels or why he did what he did. The words and actions must come from him. He must realize that you only have ONE mother, and no one is guaranteed another day.

How would he feel if she passed away and he was not informed nor ever said goodbye.

The son has a good heart and will come forward and rescue his mother from the h-ll she has been living in for three years unabated.

Shame on the father for his indifference.

It certainly would be good to know he is well and happy.
