This lady needs a reality check. Who in their right mind would do such a thing! This is the type person who gives us southerns a bad name.

I wanted to know if she is having to get any psychiatric help. Anyone that could do this to anyone is obviously not right in the head. I hope that someone will make sure the child is not abused again.

I do not agree with what the lady did, but as many kids that I see in the back of pick-trucks, where do you define who is putting a child at risk. If Alabama law allows this in a pickup truck box who determined that this is a safe means of transporting kids.

I happen to know of the young lady in the box. Yes it was very poor judgement. How ever jail time serves no purpose, it's all about money. family conciling would have been sufficient. No body wins here. the family is seperated, family income is lost and the citizens of marshall county will pay the bill.

Before you all judge and execute the women. take a good look at yourselves! Each and every one of you have done something, or will do something, in you lifetime that was,will be, totaly incomprehensible.

They should put that Judge in jail and let him serve the remaining 85 days on that suspended sentence. The Alabama judicial system is a joke. That's why these people continually do these types of things. Five days, that's pathetic.

Finally a judge that doles out consequences that fit the crime. In this case it wasn't a smart decision on the part of the mother. I don't know the exact size of this box but I wonder if it could be broken down to fit in the car. But, either way riding on top of a minivan in a box with your child in it is just irresponsible parenting and stupid. Completing a parenting class and attending driving school is an excellent consequence for this crime. I think the other of the jail time, probation seem to be only for the benefit of the city of Albertville.

I think someone should drive around 431 with this woman in a box and see how she likes it. I don't like driving on that highway in the car much less would I EVER put my child on top of my car!! Tiffany. I don't know if you have Children or not. It doesn't really matter. I have 3 wonderful sons that were raised to respect everybody and obey every aspect. of the law. none of which have ever been arrested or charged with even a simple traffic offense. they all are currently serving in the Us military. I surely was not the "PERFECT" parent. Parenting is not something that you are born with, It's something that is learned from your parents,Grand parents,Aunts and uncles and society. Nobody In my family was raised to be a racist,or to be judgemental. definately not to be a hypocrit. I think she got off easy! The child could have fallen out of the box and been ran over by her mother or another vehicle or sustained injuries. The vehicle does not have to be moving at a high speed to cause injury.
