they can be in both english and spanish.... but you can't REQUIRE them to do that. That would be unconstitutional.

Lexy08, just have just made the most logical statement and the most logical solution that Latinos are more than will to abide by. Your statement, "Don't you think their businesses would benefit from Americans knowing what type of business is there so they could generate more revenue???", is the 1st part of the solution and the second and fair part of that solution, to borrow from your statement, "Don't you think THEIR businesses would benefit from LATINOS knowing what type of business is there so they could generate more revenue??? It is called compromise, common decency, or mutual respect. Sadly, all of these terms appear to be outside of the understanding of our elected officals.

FICTIONX SEEMS TO BE READING WHAT HE WANTS, IT'S NOT ABOUT DEMOPGRAPHICS. LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIRE DEPTS. MUST BE ABLE TO READ BUISNESS SIGNS QUICKLY IN ORDER TO..."i dunno" STOP A ROBBERY OR SAVE A BUISNESS FROM FIRE DAMAGE. I'M SURE IF YOU ASK ANY HISPANIC BUISNESS OWNER IF HE WOULD WELCOME BUISNESS FROM A NON HISPANIC PERSON, HE/SHE WOULD SAY YES. SO, EVEN IF YOU ARE TRYING TO ATTRACT BUISNESS AMONG A CERTAIN DEMOGRAPHIC A BUISNESS OWNER WOULD STILL WANT TO ATTRACT ANY BUISNESS....NOT ONLY HIS/HER DEMOPGRAPHIC.

The thing is that when a call comes in to 911, they dispatch according to numeric adress. Therefore, why not make the numeric adress visible a requirement.

LatinaPride, SSSSSHHHHHHH! You're giving away information that the mayor wants kept secret. Of cource, dispatches are given as numeric street addresses; therefore, sign changes are completely unnecessary. However, that does not fit in with the mayor's plan to harass Latinos to the point that they leave; therefore, restoring Albertville to its once "all white" status.

Most of them probably wouldn't. The demographic to most of these places are almost all strictly hispanic. I am in law enforcement. I can put an address into my gps and find it just as easily.

and "concerned for our county" I'm sure you are aware that businesses have street addresses right? I guess you are one of those people that call us and say. Also... we have duplicated business names, but not street addresses.

911 dispatchers do give street adresses and numbers, look around. How many buisnesses do you see that clearly have their street address marked? Most buisnesses have a PO Box, not a mailbox with the house/buisness numeric address clearly displayed. Once again, these buisnesses are located in Albertville, AL. English should not have to be "declared" the official language, just as Spanish is the official language of Mexico.

I agree "concerned for our county" it is rather pedantic to DECLARE English our official language, I think everyone knows that. I don't think it is a problem that the signs for these businesses are in Spanish, it seems like its just something to complain about. I think we have bigger problems in our county, like the school systems that teach Terry that it is completely okay to leave out all forms of punctuation. If you want to address this issue, why not make them mark their address instead of changing their sign? I know... that isn't really the issue.

I have traveled in many different countries, Egypt, Spain, France, Greece, Italy and many more and they don't put their signs in out language then why should we have to put our signs in mexican language, which is not true spanish, if you want to live and work in our country then (1) enter it the legal way. Mexico does not allow people from other countries to enter their country and work there if they do not do it the legal way, so why should we.

Prove that you are a legal citizen of this country, then prove that all of your extended family currently living here are legal citizens of this country... Then you can put whatever you want on your sign. Otherwise, shut your pie hole!
