This is horrible. I wonder what they did to her. I dont understand how any mother out there could harm their child. If you are a mother and no longer want your child, give the child to a family member or to someone who does want the child. Im sure the birth father or one of the grandparents would have gladly taken her.

Where is she? What has this mother done to her child? Why has dept of child services been involved, yet this monster (mother) still had her child? Why are people with lengthy felony records allowed freedom? My heart aches for this child and I am unable to sleep until I know she is safe. I can not believe that this continues to happen in our society. People stop abusing your children and stop allowing people to abuse your children. We live in a sad society.

Shaniya is such a beautiful little girl. I pray that she has not been sold to a pedophile or a group of pedophiles. She could be in Amsterdam by now. That sorry excuse for a mother should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law if she has sold this precious little girl. Does no one have morals anymore, from the top in Washington down?

DSS has been watching this family for a long time. They have been told not to live in the Davis trailer home because of several sewage leaks. The home was searched over the summer and narcotics were found. The father admitted that the mother of the child was never really involved in her life up until 3 weeks ago. He let the child live with her after she found a job and had a place to live for six months.

After all her problems, why the heck did he allow the child to live with her? Didn't he see the warning signs that this woman wasn't a fit mother? He determined that she would turn her life around in six months? When did this woman ever take an opportunity to bond with this child and how could anyone determine the woman had suddenly developed any care about her?

I hate to point fingers in this situation, I'm sure Shaniyah's father is beside himself with fear and guilt as it is. But didn't anyone see the warning signs with this woman? If I were in his shoes I wouldn't have let the woman near the child.

Shaniyah is a beautiful little girl, I can't imagine someone not wanting to love and cherish her. I hope they find her well, but I fear the worst. This is one screwed up family and I can only feel despair for the children involved in it.

Human traficking...that says it all. I imagine she sold her, there's really no other way to explain those charges. Plus she's a prostitute and a drug addict, and some people will go that far for dope. But here's my issue: We're at war in 2 countries but are ignoring the war on children right here at home. What we need is for a specialized unit to be developed within the FBI to handle not only abductions and crimes against our sons and daughters, but also taking preventive measures. The Supreme Court ruled that child rapists can not be given the death penalty because they do not end the lives of their victims. I say they do, the lives of those children as they know them. Everyone needs to call Congress, every mother needs to try to get other mothers to do the same. The message is WE ARE DONE WITH THIS MURDERING AND RAPING AND TAKING OF OUR CHILDREN. You do something, legally, or we will. Illegally. I live and breathe Somer, Haleigh, Lindsey, and Adji every day waiting for a break. Something has to change, but the lawmakers aren't going to move until pushed.

My feeling is that she pimped out her daughter....she was rented out, and the only reason the police became involved was that she wasn't returned on time. The human trafficking charge and prostitution charge should tell you.

Enough is enough, when are we going to stand together and put a stop to the insanity of our children being stolen, raped and murdered. They are now so bold as to take them from the security of their own homes. They have no fear from the justice system so it is open season on the most innocent of all. Yes they need the death sentence and very quickly. Why should we support them for the rest of their lives, only to let them eventually get out to do it again. We have to contact our elected officials and tell them we are mad and we aren't going to let this happen to our children anymore. We agree with Sarah, we will do whatever it takes to put a stop to this. Enough talk, now action. Call and write your congressmen now and tell them we want something done. It should be a automatic death penalty for what they do to these sweet children. Put us on the jury and we will see that it happens.

NY times article~ A little more in depth

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2009/11/14/us...
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.(AP)-- The mother of a 5-year-old girl who disappeared in North Carolina was charged Saturday with human trafficking and other offenses, though authorities said they still did not know the girl's whereabouts.

Antoinette Nicole Davis, the mother of Shaniya (shuh-'NY-uh) Davis, faces a child abuse charge involving prostitution as well as filing a false police report, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department. The release did not say whether the charges were related to her daughter's disappearance. Telephone messages and an e-mail left for police were not immediately returned.

Shaniya's mother reported the girl missing Tuesday morning from a mobile home community in Fayetteville, and authorities began searching nearby wooded areas. The following day a man described as Davis' boyfriend was arrested in the kidnapping but later released.

Police then said a worker spotted a child matching Shaniya's description at a Sanford hotel about 40 miles from Fayetteville on Tuesday. Authorities reviewed surveillance video and, after speaking with family members, confirmed the child's identity.

Surveillance footage showed Mario Andrette McNeill carrying Shaniya into a hotel room, and he was arrested and charged with kidnapping Friday.

Authorities have said McNeill admitted to taking the girl, though his attorney says he will plead not guilty to the charge. They have not said if McNeill and Davis knew each other.

An official at the Cumberland County Detention Center said Davis was still being booked and it was unclear whether she had an attorney. Her first court appearance would likely be Monday.

Shaniya's father, Bradley Lockhart, told The Associated Press he raised his daughter for several years but last month decided to let her stay with her mother. He said Davis struggled financially over the years, but she recently obtained a job and her own place, so Lockhart decided to give her a chance to raise their daughter.

''I should've never let her go over there,'' he said Saturday night.

Lockhart said police have not told him whether they are any closer to finding his daughter.

''I just want her to come back safe my friend,'' he said.''I love her very much and I hope she is OK.''

He described his relationship with Davis as a ''one-night stand'' and said he and Davis never argued about him raising Shaniya.

''Shaniya is a precious young lady and she is special,'' Lockhart said.

Lockhart said he did not know McNeill.

This is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard! Does the desire for drugs make someone this evil? If so, we MUST get the drugs off the streets. Then we MUST put all child predators away for good and especially the ones that pimp them out. Why is this happening to our precious children?! It has to be stopped.
I pray for precious Shaniya and her father's family. Is her sister doing the same to her children? If anyone ever hears of this going on anywhere, please report it immediately. Don't waste our tax paid money on a trial for these two - they don't deserve to see the light of day ever again...

Don't even call her a mother!!!!!!!!!! She gave birth but a mother would not do this to her child - a mother is suppose to protect her young. I am so upset and angry that this has happened. We have yet failed another one of our children.

God Bless Shaniya...

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
