The maintenence dept needs to be gone through completely, the custodians are a part of the maintenence dept. i have noticed that quite a few of the custodians hang out in the cafateria and do nothing. what a waste of money. no wonder the school doesnt have enough money. they pay most of the hispanic custodians to set in the cafeteria and play. the maintenence department drives around alot(on our gas that we are paying for). i see the guys that mow the grass driving around all the time not doing anything. if you will notice they drive around in pairs so i wonder how much an hour we are wasting proably 20 to 30 dollars per hour, and the custodians sitting around the cafeteria. you know that most of them proably make 10 or more an hour. what is that costing the tax payers if 5 or six of them are in the cafateria for 2 to 6 hours a day playing. do the math!! thats around 60 and hour. what about the one that is picking up the trash in that white car. i see her on her cell and in the cafeterias at all the school more than picking up trash. what a waste of our tax dollars and i know that she has worked there for a while so i am sure that we pay her more than 10 dollars an hour to talk on her cell and drive around. they need to get rid of some of the deadbeat custodians and get someone that will work and not waste our tax dollars. they could pay the ones that work more money and get rid of the ones that sit in that cafeteria and ones that just drive around and talk on their cell phones. i have never had a job that i didnt have to work. i guess i need to apply at the school so i can do nothing and make good money.

I really don't think they get paid near that much. The only thing that has ever bothered me is the long time BISD custodian that is literally a crack head!! How does he have a school job??????

Cecil and Love This Site...I take it we'll see your names on the ballot for the next school board race?

We already have Morris and Edwards on the board, and if you think they're the types of people who will suck up to the administration and be their puppets, then you obviously don't know these people. I know them both personally, and I know they're in those positions to make some serious changes. Just give it time...it won't change overnight.

yes they do get paid that much, in fact some of them get paid as much as 13 to 14 dollars an hour. surprise! its a matter of public record all you have to do is ask at the administration office for a list and they will give it to you.

they can only change things if they know whats going on. no one that works up there( at any school)is going to say anything, especially when there is a possibllity of them losing their job. as for me on the next ballot? something to consider. as for administration? thats just an office full of secretaries, 1 business manager, and the superintendent. and your comment about sandy and weldon, i never said they would suck up to anyone, but they cant make any changes though without carrying the majority of the vote. i like them both and wanted both of them to win. i wish that they could make some changes. i do know the thing that they are working on now is building new schools. do you want new schools?

I have always thought it was ridiculous for a town the size of breckenridge to have 3...count 'em, 3!...elementary school campuses. Seriously...why has that continued? Decades ago, when the 4-school system was set up for Breckenridge, there wasn't a bus system and most children walked to school. Nowadays, there's no reason why we should continue to maintain 3 separate campuses. I think it's a wonderful idea to consolidate the school system into a single campus, but still keep elementary, middle school and high school separate. Or, at the very least, have a single elementary school campus. It may cost some money initially, but over time, it would save the school district a lot of money. Wouldn't you agree?

We have three schools because we need three schools. The schools are barely big enough as is to hold all the children. They have had to add portable building because of this. What do you want them to do??? Build just one huge school?? Like you said, we're a small town. We don't have that kind of money.

You've made my point even better than I could. The school campuses are outdated and have been outgrown, so yes, I think a single, larger elementary school campus is the answer. Why not? We are a small town, but we're not a poor town. There are communities smaller and poorer than Breckenridge building new schools all the time, because they realize it's an investment in our children's education. Have you taken a look at the new athletic complex and football field lately? The money is there...unfortunately we had to spend it on sports rather than education.

yes i will agree mrs morris is new and can hopefully stand up to those who aren't doing the job right,or lets hope she doesn't get caught up in the clusters.it is hard to go against those you work with.as for my comment towards the admin.,yes we do have a few who really don't need to be there.rude and unconcerned about our kids.and yes we do have several people working in several depts.,that do alot of nothing.seen it myself.for years!when was the last time the windows of the junior high were cleaned, inside and out?the cafeteria issues are right on.some of these people do work hard, but for the most part, there is alot of waste and cover ups.as for the crackhead,i don't know about that, but alcoholic is what i observed.on campus, behind the schools, top people have covered this up for years.the motto just mind your own business and turn the other cheek.its a shame.i say new leaders all the way around.don't be afraid to speak up.just my personal experiences and oponions!

And you proved my point. This town isn't worried about building a new school. We just built that huge gym, redid the field and now a new jail is being built. This town isn't worried about classrooms. Sad but seems to be true.

we need new schools, if we dont keep up, our children are the ones that are going to pay the price. i hope the new superintendent can help us. his main focus seems to be education. thats what we need. as for all the waste, its time to change department heads in maintenence, thats where the waste is, that should have happened when we changed superintendents.

Yes, they have been "reassigned", one to the Junior High and one to South Elementary.
