Is a prisoner placed in a one man cell considered "in population"?

population in jail is considered being with the other inmates and being treated the same way...watching over them but not watching them 24 hours a day like a suicidal person needs...also needs to be placed with stuff that they cannot hurt themselves with...including sheets, pens, pencils or any other things. pretty much an empty place.

I don't think it is right to blame Randolph County for his death. I can guarantee that they didn't want him to die like that either. It's okay to be upset, but you still have to realize that Chris is the one that made the decision to end his life.

It's a bad situation that no one wanted. Blaming people won't bring anyone back from the dead or honor their memory.

Sharyl it is too easy to hang yourself in a correctional environment. They get bath towels, that they can put around their necks and torque till they pass out then die, there are sheets that you can attach to the toilet/sink combo and tension till it is tight then slack, you have handles on the doors you can attach things too and just do it. I mean honestly if someone wants to die it is so easy to do so. Once an inmate makes the conscious decision to end their life, it isn't that hard to do so. Just being honest. Even if the officers are doing 15 minute range/health and wellness checks, it takes only a few minutes to put the plan in motion. that is why in a correctional setting, officers are encouraged to do things at irregular intervals so that the offender population do not get used to the schedule and don't plan things around that constant schedule. Just my two cents.

Till all the family members sue the correctional facilities and takes all the money. Unless they were all held at private correctional facilities.

Problem is, if they say they are not suicidal and you put them on a suicide watch and segregate them, they will sue you. If you follow what they say and put them in population, they will sue you. If a person is truly suicidal, they will succeed, we just look for someone to blame because of where they are. It's tragic but it was his personal decision to take his life.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Capricorn

If you need to get someone organized, this is the day to do it. You'll sort things out without sounding bossy or patronizing, and you'll also get co-operation instead of resistance. It's a good day for having a serious chat with a child, perhaps because you need to explain something and want to make sure you do it properly, in a way that doesn't create confusion or fear.
