Now "Don't Ask Don't Tell" Has ended, how long before the complaints that they are being treated unfairly because they cannot get married benefits, or the military is moving them with orders away from their partners.

What will happen when the 1st transexual is allowed to join the service? Where will they berth?

Time will tell what problems will be increased by this new law and regulations that the Pentagon has forced on those serving.

So will they be given any special treatment because they are gay? Is the military going to have to start to promote gay personal so they can show diversity?

I have a close family member who retired from the Navy and he said they had more trouble due to incidents surrounding female service members than they EVER had with known or suspected gay male military members. It was not necessarily the female's fault, it just seems that straight guys around women act way more like animals than a few gay guys trying to do their assigned tasks. Just sayin...

Well whether people like it or not, the military has no choice but to accept Gays.

The truth is we are going to be in perpetual wars for many generations to come and eventually we will run out of people to fight so we will be forced to draw manpower from many sources and the next step will be to allow women to fight in all combat areas, than a forced conscription, than recruiting members of other nations, and maybe allowing 16 year olds in the military.

It's just a fact of life we will have to deal with.

The solution is so simple and basic, Bring back the draft with no exceptions, unless you are really unfit to serve based on a mental or physcial issue not because you need to go to college or your daddy is connected.

Of course, just like social promotions, wait for the lawsuits claiming discrimination because they get married in a state that allows gay marraige and the military does not accept the marraige, and then we have the President who refuses to defend a law created by Congress, When did the President get that power to choice what American law to defend.

Although I don't care if Gays serve in the military, I did know 2 open Homosexuals that everyone knew was gay and they were left alone, however in 1997 the first one I knew was kicked out after he served time for raping a young airman whom he was supervising, the second one I knew was sent to prison and is still there as far as I know for molesting a 12 year old Boy in 1993 and had only been in the military for 3 years when he was caught by some very angry parents.

Land,

I would have agreed with you a few years ago, but ask yourself, would you want your Son to fight for Obama ?.

My Son last year was going to join the Army, he went through the test , Physical and everything before he told me, when iIfound out I said I would kick his rear if he died for Obama and I asked him to wait until we get a President that does not put us into stupid Political Wars. if that ever happens.

Well now he is in College and I'm teaching him the family business, so I hope and pray he does not fight for the Obama's of the world.

BTW, when I said "Obama's of the World" I meant any political party that advocates fighting a stupid war, this includes Bush, but I don't use his name anymore because he is old news.

You don't have the right equipment for me twinkie boy! I'm all for you gays in the military. You should be dying to defend this great Nation like the rest of them have. I am also for gay marriage. You guys should be just as miserable as the rest of us. I hope you declare victory on this and leave it be but you won't because your kind always needs a cuase to rally behind!

Actually My son and daughter-n-law just returned from Bagdad and Kuwait for there 2nd tour there, I am very proud of there decision to join and serve, Some concerned about my grandaughters.

I agree that congress needs to address how the armed services are involved in any action that can lead to harms way. Regardless of who is the President, I would prefer less military / covert ops, Cia, Contract workers, etc and more stand back and secure of borders and let the rest of the world work on making this planet a safe place. Now if the U.N. would really be what was sold us then things would be different.

Hope your son makes your business proftable and has a long life.

I would kill for America if we were defending America, but nope we are defending everyone that wants to be a dictator.

I'm not saying I'm a pacifist or that I'm against violence, I just do not believe in being the one to initiate it first,The non-initiation of force. aka Libertarian

We follow orders, we don't question and we let the politicians eventually kill us all in the name of freedom! I prefer to kill rather than die!

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aquarius

If you're a typical Aquarian you're often quite idealistic and today is no exception. You're wandering around on cloud nine, especially if you're thinking about a very special someone, and indulging in all sorts of deliciously romantic daydreams. Reality? You've no time for it right now, because it will intrude too much on your fantasies.
