The article mentions that she was here to promote reading, but it doesn't mention that she was also here to meet with the Alamogordo Economic Forum. The people in the area may want to see that front page story also. That the Governor of the state of NM where part of the state is being sonic boomed almost daily and that fact that she apparently had never heard a sonic boom is another front page story.

Ant the video shows her slightly startled and the kids do not jump or scream, or fall down, they tell her what it was after she asked what that was, Obviously the Air Force needs to Sonic Boom all of New Mexico so all citizens get the chance like the governor do to experience the "Souund of Freedom"..

By the way, we are still waiting for all of those links to all the claims you have recently said are caused by booms..

Then you were certainly not watching the same video I watched. They were all startled and turned their faces toward the windows and many of them said "WHOA!" Even the person holding the camera was startled which can be witnessed in the jump the picture made. I have never seen people react like that to a normal thunder clap. It's just so amusing how you people who have something to gain from that military base keep trying to tell people that they are not hearing or feeling what they are hearing and feeling. Kind of like some sick man trying to convince a woman that she's not being raped. You should ask yourselves why you are putting so much work into telling other people how mistaken they are. You wouldn't have to do that if it was true.

So your gonna tell me that you have never seen any kids get scared from thunder? You must not be around them often then. I have seen them run and cry during a thunder storm. I have never seen that happen for a sonic boom. Any sudden noise can startle people. That doesn't mean it's going to kill them.

You apparently don't read or comprehend what you read very well. Read again what I said about thunder. After all, we were told on other posts by the same people that what we heard this week were "mild" booms. I'd like to have seen their reactions to one of the directly overhead louder ones. And WHERE did I say anything about people getting killed? That's something that you introduced. I'm just tired of people who so obviously benefit in some way from the source of the booms trying to tell permanent citizens who are not employed by the base and who get no benefit from the base that they are not seeing and hearing what they are seeing and hearing. And posting another link to the video is great. It shows exactly what I witnessed. They were startled and they did react, as did the camera person.

You are confused, they turned their heads toward the windows, and they turned right back to the governor, they were not startled, they heard a noise and turned that way...
So saying Whoa means what..I could tell you Whoa and that means what???

Of course people do not react that way to thunder, they know it will happen because the rain, the wind, the lightning, you expect a thunder clap after seeing the lightning, not the same at all...

That is like you and you hatred for the military...not the same..

How did rape get in thsi conservation, why do your type do that, it is about the governor hearing a sonic boom, the kids turned away and turned back, they did not jump up and run all around like you do..Startled people do not calm down that fast....

still waiting for any link that shows any health issue that has been mentioned here for years on Topix, the paper, that shows sonic booms cause harm to anyone except your type....

Yep, no benefit from those who serve in the military, just Freedom.....

They were not startled enough to jump up and scream, they were startled as much as a car honking their horn at you in another car..Your phone proburly startles you too...

Yep, the camera person dropped the camera and we seen it all, all the camera shots were going all over the place, all the screaming and hysterial, the lights falling down, the dust filling the room, the kids crying, and the governor pulling her gun and protecting the kids from the big bad startling noise...yep seen it all...

I read it again and it still says that you haven't seen people react like that to thunder. I have. I have seen people of all ages react worse than that to thunder. And I said it won't kill you because the person starting these threads continually accuse sonic booms of numerous "health problems" that I have yet to see any proof of. I am a permanent resident and do not benefit financially at all from any of this testing, but I support it. I'm sick of hearing all of the whining cry baby's (many if which are the same person using different names) that provide no proof to anything they say.

So, Sailor, do you work at the base or shop at the base or get any financial benefit from the base? And "not", when you say "(I) do not benefit financially at all from any of this testing", are you saying that you don't work at the base or get any financial benefit from the base or even have access to the base? To me, your statement is not denying some kind of benefit from the base, it's just denying benefit specifically from the testing. So my guess is that you are either active AF or you work out there or you get some kind of business from the base.

Then you have proven yourself to be dense. I said "normal" thunder. Why leave out a word that I used? Just to make your point? It doesn't work that way and I will call you on it every time. We were told by others on this site that the sonic booms this past week were very mild. And no, I have never seen people react to "normal" thunder the way they reacted to these "mild" sonic booms.

Well guess what, your wrong. Big surprise there. I can't even get on base unless a friend or somebody signs me on. I work in town so again you don't know what you're talking about. I do however think this town benefits from the base even being here.

Now you are confusing me with post # 11...Maybe you do have damages from the booms..

Now if you would only reply to my question to you before you lose track of where you are at....

Now we are calling a person "Dense".

Why did you use the word normal, and what is normal thunder???

I said they were mild, to me, myself, i, and they are, they are not the loud booms that cause glee and happiness, the feeling of great satisfaction that the Sounds of Freedom are being shared by many..

So you believe what i say here?????

The only thing we have seen is a video that shows no reaction other than a sonic boom that was weak / mild compared to the normal boom, and the governor of this state being slightly startled, not scared, not hurt, not nothing like you are trying to potray from this video...

So try and calm down and be careful when you reply to a post....if that does not work, take 2 Obama;s and sleep on it, tomorrow will be worse...

He is wrong....

The town would be a little bigger than Tully w/o the military and WSMR here...

Most of these anti military anti boom people make claims they feel are real, and have yet to provide any proof of their claims..

I thought they learned in school the earth was not flat.

That is what I just can't understand..... Why keep making outlandish claims about how awful these sonic booms are if you have absolutely NO proof to back up anything you are saying. My family has lived here for generations and not 1 sonic boom related illness. Go figure. This is getting really old really fast.

Some children are hiding under desks and under playground equipment during sonic booms and even when they hear and see aircraft loud overhead or even not so loud so don't make light of the reaction children are having. There are teachers who are seeing this and remaining silent. Some children are even asking parents why those jets don't go far away where they don't affect anyone. They're smarter than many adults. The noise pollution is also having other affects on young and old. Stop minimizing this nonsense going on in this part of NM. Sonic booms are not the sound of freedom.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Pisces

Things are not always what they seem today, so be careful. Someone might appear to be completely honest but turn out later to have been fooling you in some way. Or a situation may seem quite clear-cut right now but forthcoming events will reveal that things are very different under the surface. So be wary about who and what you believe, and don't let anyone push you into making important decisions today because they may not be in your best interests.
