Mr Magoo wrote: Here's some good memories of today's wonderful alamo-ghetto, from the land of "Not what I can do for you, but what can you do for me", that will stick in my mind for the rest of my born days. Walmart, and Lowes. Two shitholes who couldn't give a rat's ass about a customer, or about moving their dead asses for anybody. I'll speak of both shithole establishment's bakeries. I've discovered that Walmart has a bread slicer! Holy shit batman, Walmart came out of the stone age! But the catch is, the people who work there must only slice a few loaves on some special holiday, or occasion, maybe sombody in the back had a few hits of meth, and had a little bit extra energy that day? Anyway, you won't find not one goddamn loaf of any bread they make-sell sliced, because this is the land of the lazy, the land of a day late, and a dollar short, the land of "I get paid wetback wages, what do you expect from me"? Cries to them, management has fallen on deaf ears. I'd literally have to call in a swat team to get any results from this deadbeat establishment. A walmart? A far cry from I'm afraid. OK, now onto the other shithole in town, known as Lowes. Here, they make what appears to be a 1/2 way decent french sandwich bread, useful for subs, etc. But only one place in town gets such bread, and that is your super, award winning "Brown Bag Deli", which couldn;t be a pimple on a real Sub joint anywhere else in the country. Anyway, I placed a special request with the manager in the bakery, and I was told "This bread is very hard to make, costs more money, bla bla bla, just a runaround of more lazy excuses. Same with the main managers at this store. Your pleas go in one ear, and out the other, you aren't changing their gae plan, just like you cannot change any other businesses game plan in this town, they all have heads like rocks, know only how to d things one way, and it's their way, or there's the door, and take your business elsewhere. Well, guess what? I do take my business elsewhere, screw all you people and your crap businesses, which you think are something so extra special here. You ain't! Screw ya! Rant off. Magoo. In response to Mr Magoo. Walmart had sliced French Bread today when I shopped there. And they're charging you too, an additional 62 cents for slicing it. Price of un-sliced 98 cents, price of sliced $1.60. Agreed, freaking shysters in this town would sell you ice in the winter time. And walmart's the biggest offender.

I know this is an old post, but when I read it, it was right in line with something that happened to me yesterday (Sunday). I went through the drive-thru at McDonald's and got a drink and a burger. The burger I got doesn't usually come with lettuce and I asked that they add it. They charged me 40 cents for a little sprikling of shredded lettuce that in the end really made no difference to the sandwich. I won't be making that mistake again. Next time they can keep their 2 cents worth (or less) of lettuce and I'll keep my 40 cents in my pocket.

Why don't you call corporate and complain about it? There is no one here that can help you with this issue.

I remember getting fish & chips at Alfie's, which used British newspaper newspapers to wrap their stuff ... loved reading the strange stories from England. I recall going up to the old sandstone Indian wells and finding arrowheads and stuff like that. Mrs. Skinner, my fifth grade teacher at Buena Vista, went to Trinity Site and came back with "trinitite" and gave me a small piece. That should explain my thyroid problem, no? You are right, that probably does explain your thyroid problem. That issue has been discussed by medical professionals and others at recent conferences on Trinity Site. Some school children were taken to that area and brought home "trinitite" and some became very ill and even died according to sources that spoke at gatherings about the Trinity Explosion. They spoke of some that put it under their bed and suffered the consequences of ever bringing that stuff home.

I too was stationed at Holloman 75-78. Keri, Kevin and Weasel became good friends. I just read that Weasel moved to Lubbock and died in a auto accident in 2004 in Tatum NM. I loved that band. Had great times at Back Door as well as at Jerry's.
