What happened to Angela from WKDD?

You guys really need to get a life over there on Freedom Avenue- EVERYONE have the right to comment and talk about what happened? What it is thats really eating at you is that you know everything that is posted is the truth and you hate that you can't stop them from posting it, pisses you off that you can't ESCORT them out over telling the truth doesn't it???? No Class is actually the category you fall under. SHOULD I ILLEBRATE??? I have not attacked, but if you would like me to i have 7 years worth of great stories i can start posting. But then again, i won't stoop to your level- we walk around smiling today making jokes about the true things people have posted about trying to act like you don't care, thats how you have always been, the truth is we always saw thru you. If you didn't care about what people were saying you wouldn't read it. Oh and by the way- People with class would never type out, JESUS... Remember you work for a "FAMILY" radio station that has a heart.. Thall shall not use gods name in vein...

Oh and another thing, your earlier posts just prove how mean spirited you are. You just keep showing your true colors over and over again.

I find it hilarious that they can't keep themselves from reading this forum, or even posting in it. Just goes to show that we are STILL in their heads.....those little voices just won't stop talking, will they??

As for the 3.6 rating for November? It will be your last "Hoo-rah", so enjoy it while you can....

Angela is doing GREAT!! The holiday season has been keeping her busy, so the get-together will not be until after the new year. I will send out an e-mail to everyone on the list as soon as plans are solidified.

I'm glad I found this forum and got a bit more information on Angela's departure, since there was nothing through "official channels."

I've been a WKDD listener for many years, although NPR supplanted it as my primary drivetime radio station a while back. When last I filled out an Arbitron diary, I logged WKDD for fifteen minutes each morning -- my alarm is set there and I can only listen until Matt annoys me and motivates me to get out of bed. Fifteen minutes was probably "rounding up."

I originally found the transition from Barb "BA" Adams to Angela a bit jarring. But Angela grew on me and most often I listened to sympathize over Matt's poor treatment of her. She became the only non-arrogant, intelligent voice on that station. When she abruptly disappeared, I decided enough was enough and changed my presets on my alarm and in my car.

I wish Angela only the best. I'm sure she will rise, phoenix-like, from the ashes of her dismissal by Clear Channel. And hopefully she can move into a position where she can be treated with the respect she deserves.

Yesterday Keith wanted people to call in and give him ideas on what to get his new girlfriend for Christmas, I suggested a BAG to put over his head if he wanted the relationship to go any further.
It would have to be a BIG grocery bag to fit that BIG head he has inside of it....

So to imply that Angela's brother "started" a message board to air out WKDD's dirty laundry is misleading and inaccurate. Nice try, though.

She was -- and is -- a public personality. Therefore, her departure caused more public interest and confusion than if, say, I were dismissed from my editing job. I absolutely think Big Brother is doing the right thing by responding to Angela's listeners on her behalf. "No class" is leaving thousands of radio listeners in the dark, assuming that, like mindless sheep, they'd simply follow along as Matt Patrick told them to without asking questions or forming their own opinions over what happened.

I don't care if you agree with my views or not, or whether you think her talent was lacking, but the point remains that Angela should have been given a chance to say goodbye to her listeners. Bottom line.

I’ve spent the last 20 minutes reading this site and it’s entertaining. There are a few things that need to be said. As a former employee of the Akron cluster I know first hand about some of the people mentioned. For the record, I left the station after reassessing what was important in my life and felt I did not want the stress of the position I held. I love radio, but it was too much. Keith and I had some major blowups, but were always fine at the end of the day. The bashing of him is unfair. He’s doing his job. He knows full well he can be an ass at times. But at the end of the day he is someone who cares about the product that comes out the speakers. I would rank him in the top 3 of PD’s I’ve worked for and I quit because he was tough to deal with. This might surprise many of you, but he is a pretty decent person. When I came back to Akron to work at wkdd, my wife and I had our belongings hauled by a moving company. When they arrived in Akron, we were told the cost would be close to $1000 over the estimate. The GM of WKDD refused to pay the additional expense. They wanted the money before they unloaded the truck. Without the money our stuff would be moved to a warehouse in New York and it could be weeks or months before we saw it, if we could afford to ship it back. Keith showed up and gave the driver cash out of his pocket, almost a thousand dollars. He was never reimbursed by the company and I made small payments back to him every paycheck, but he never asked for a dime and I still owe him hundreds today. Keith had talked about making changes on the morning show three years ago. Everybody in the programming department from Kevin and Dave to Keith, knew it was not going to work. This is going to be difficult for you to read, but she should have never been on the morning show. Keith did not put her there, neither did Chuck. The decision was made by the GM. She lacked the ability to do the job, especially the news, and everybody knew it. The consultant at the time from McVay even said it was a terrible idea. Trisha – I’ve read what you’ve posted here and see that nothing has changed. When you worked at the front desk, you loved Belinda, you hated Belinda. The day she was fired you told everybody how happy you were and how you were better off. Now you’ve changed your tune again. At one time you and Keith were close. You are bashing him for betrayal of Angela, but if you were good friends, why are you doing the same to him? Matt Patrick has an ego. Almost 30 years on the same station with high ratings will do that. I can say that I’ve never worked with somebody like him elsewhere. Lets face it, he’s funny and entertaining. He’ll talk about anything on the air. Real life stuff. He was always frustrated because his partner would not open up on the air. Andy Big Brother. You need to come clean. Your issue with Keith started over the liners you recorded. On a Monday Keith came in and I had never seen him so pissed. All morning long Matt and Angela has been airing liners of Andy doing weird accents and bad impressions. Apparently andy and angela had come in over the weekend to record them. I went into the studio and listened, and they were just bad. We deleted them from the computer and Keith went off and had every right to. I’ve read that Angela was told not to do a show when Matt was gone. That is true because she lacked energy and was a little boring. Once when Matt was away she allowed a caller to say shit on the air and did not dump it. She said she was not paying attention. Angela is a nice person and was friendly, but she had a diva complex going on and it was getting in the way of the show sounding good. I just feel like all sides of the story should be told and this has been awfully one sided.

Matt Patrick is a DRUNK who smells my exhaust wind. That's why Steve French & BA left his show so many years ago. Neither of them could stand his EGO.

Come clean? Ok....I never mentioned them because I could care less about the "liners" I recorded. I recorded them for fun, with absolutely no guarantee that they would be used on the air.

For the record, my issue with Keith started in early 2001, when he worked for me part-time at the Quonset Hut in Fairlawn (when the station was located there). One day, he simply didn't show up for work---no notice...nothing. A simple phone call would have sufficed, which was not much to ask.

I am glad to hear that he helped you financially when you needed it, but one good deed does not make him a "good, decent person"....

Jerry- I have never commented on Belynda on this site other than that we was also walked out. And I have nothing to hide- the day it happened I was happy it was over, and Belynda knows that I was happy it was over. Belynda knew it was coming, she told me two months earlier standing at the Night Ranger Concert in front of the Sheraton. Keith was a close friend at one time- I left five years ago and have never spoken to him since, How he handled her dismissal was wrong- bottom line. You don’t overstep lines with coworkers when you are the boss one second and poor out your personal feelings and ask for advice the next and then turn around and show up in your suit and say “goodbye”… I think you don’t get the point to what all of this is… Have I not stated repetedly I won’t tell the stories I know about any direct person because I’m not here to bash or hurt anyone- I just state that how it was handled was wrong and unfair not only to Angela but also to her listeners. I have also stated plenty of times that I do not listen to the station anymore- I don’t have time to and when I do listen to the radio its not kdd and that was before Angela was released. I just really wish that he could have handled the release differently. It all comes down to this Jerry- What they do is up to Clear Channel BUT How they did it was unfair. And when people ask what happened I have the right to tell them, do I not? I could care less about ratings, I could care less about his new co host, I cold care less if Keith stays with clear channel for a eternity- all I asked him in a previous post was the next time you have to let a loyal employee go do himself, his listeners and his co works a favor "STAND TALL, BE PROUD OF THE POSITION HE EARNED AND DISMISS A LOYAL CO-WORKER WITH SOME RESPECT." That’s all I have asked in all of this! She was loyal, you know she was loyal- was it fair HOW they did it??? Was it really fair??????? You can come back and attack me and say what ever- I am not here to attack- I am here to state one of my very closest friends should have had the right to say good bye to her listeners! Oh Jerry...I know exactly who you are and of course you would say what you said! You were/are so far up Keith's A$$.
If I still owed someone money, I wouldn't say negative things (or I guess the truth)about him either. If I remember you two had your days of hate and there were many. And if only you heard what Keith would say about you.
And as for the diva attitude. Angela treated you and your wife with nothing but respect and even welcomed you both into her home. I was there!

I remember hearing Andy's skits, and he did a great job, If he hadn't then Matt wouldn't have played them.
I'm just sorry you are bitter that he was able to do your job better than you, and you might want to check with Keith, but I believe the whole thing was his idea. He just might not have wanted to tell you!
