Well the Governor did it, A vote for change was a vote for business as usual. Go to catohio.bizz.cc or our old address at catohio.cjb.net and join us in our efforts to get rid of this program. If we knew back in 1993 what we know now, E-Check would not have even lasted the whole 10 years. Now we need the people to get back on board.

There's your answer on why we (the 7 counties) are being screwed over by Strickland and the OEPA Nazi's...

"Strickland said E-Check is ''a critical component'' of Ohio's continuing efforts to comply with provisions of the federal Clean Air Act."

It has nothing to do with cleaning up the air it's about losing Federal highway funds if someone doesn't get f**ked. I say let someone else get screwed for a while. I hope everyone noticed that when the counties near Cincinnati told Taft to go screw himself when they tried to extend the Echeck program down there nothing was said why was that? Was their air cleaner? Were they all of the sudden meeting all the clean air requirements? NO, their state representatives had the balls to complain enough to stop this program, where are our representatives?? Are they cowaring in a corner somewhere sucking their thumbs?!? Write yours and ask them!!

Why not extend it to the whole state? Air quality has not changed a bit since this program went into effect.

I sent my .02 to that link last time you had it up. Obviously, it did not do a bit of good. I feel the same about this program as the majority of people do.

I like the Governor's action. The state will stay with green clean air.

It will cost me nothing, but some of my time to have my cars e-checked if they are required to be checked. That is a little price to pay for green clean air. The only complainers will be the people who's cars can't pass for lack of maintenance because they are too cheap a$$ed to do the required maintenance on their cars.

The trade off is loss of highway funding and we all know the highways need all the repair funding they can get in Ohio.

GO GREEN CLEAN AIR & GOVERNOR STRICKLAND !!!

SDespot has it right on the money - no pun inteneded. E-Check is a discriminatory policy that is confined to select counties, penalizing those residents for "air pollution" while non-residents and out-of-state drivers who drive in, through and out of the chosen counties get away scot-free with paying for this! It's as if the knuckleheads in Columbus think there are invisible walls rising from the borders of these counties that automatically trap pollution and only those inside those walls are responsible.

It's just another form of political correctness gone berserk. Unfortunatly, the Gov hasn't the guts to say "enough is enough". If he extended it for another six months, where will it end - if it does at all?

Attaboy Teddy. Continue a failed program and be counted as another failin' governor.

Since it's inception, over 92% of all vehicles tested pass. Under the current form of testin' the majority of cars that fail are a result of a failed sensor and the check engine light bein' on, not because of emmissions exceedin' the maximum amount.

Another black mark against ol' Teddyboy.

I must comment on OMG from Tallmadge. Everyone will agree we all want clean air. That is a fact, but after 12 years of E-Check our air is reported to be even dirtier. How can this be you might ask because after 12 years you see more cleaner cars and less older polluting vehicles. One reason is that industries that cannot comply with the standards are permitted to purchase "Offset Credits". Al Gore even touts these credits. In reality these industries are allowed to buy credits that permit them to pollute more then they would normally allowed to do. This means industry buys their way into compliance. This compliance is ONLY on paper! Our air gets dirtier but the area is in compliance on paper. The State uses this E-Check program to generate some of these credits. To sum it up, OMG thinks he/she are helping clean the air by proving his/her vehicles do not pollute. Now their cars pass the test and prove they are not polluting, but in actuality, they just helped generate credit for industry to pollute more then they should. The OEPA does not want you to know this. Before you swallow this E-Check program, think of it as an apple. You would never eat an apple without looking at all sides of it. There might be a worm on the side you are not looking at. All we ask is for people to look into what is really happening. The way the OEPA sold this program looks good on the front, but it really is totally different when looked at from the other side. catohio.bizz.cc

This program is the worst. It only wastes time and money for all and benefits only one- the company that administers it.

How much additional polution is created by the actual test and the time spent waiting in line w/ your engine idling? How much gas is wasted also? I would love to see a study on that!

12-29-07
From Coalition Against Testing

Approximately two and a half years ago we were told to leave this issue alone
And it would go away when it expired on 12-31-07. About a week before Christmas
The E-Check issue was back in the media. After Communication with Ohio Governor’s
Office, We worked all threw Christmas putting together paper work for the Governors
Eyes only.
On 12-28-07 This past Friday
Conversation with Governors office, I was told that there were no Executive orders
To be signed by the Governor before January. According to the Akron Beacon Journal, the
Governor was signing the order Friday, which happened to be when I was on the phone
Making arrangements for members of Portage / Summit County CAP and myself to meet
With the Governor to share the Coalition Against Testing Information. We also requested Attorney General Mark Dan to be present to receive this information. I guess we were lied to.

Our Question were as follows

Illegal initiation of the program (AMATS briefs)?
Ohio Air Quality Revenue Bonds $64,380,000 are they paid off, 12-31-05?
Article 8 section 4 Ohio Constitution Changed to stop CAT lawsuit.
Warranty Deeds - false address ?
Failure to file mergers to Secretary of State of Ohio
more issues
Did the Ohio senate violate the law taking a voice vote, and then sliding this issue into
A separate bill to allow the Governor to sign an executive order to renew this program?

Cincinnati and Dayton no longer are doing emission testing. Federal law states: all people
Must be treated equal. There for we have told the Governors office that 88 counties should
Be doing this program or NONE. Elected officials at the time of the implication of this program
Were told that this program would eventually be in the hole state. That is the only reason that they voted for this when it was first introduced. After twelve years of fighting this scam on the
Public and seeing law after law being broken, No one willing to even look at the facts and do
Anything about this I’m left with the question, Is there justice left in America when it comes to
A company with unlimited cash flow? Coalition Against Testing needs the support of the Citizens of Northeastern Ohio to stop this scam Now.
Coalition Against Testing, Thank You

Sincerely

Keith Eckmeyer (catohio.bizz.cc)

Since the earth rotates I am assuming that the atmosphere rotates with the planet thus giving us the same old dirty air minute after minute, hour after hour, day by day, etc. If this is true, why do the clouds pass us by? Are they running from the dirty air in our counties? Or are they standing still and we are seeking a different atmosphere with cleaner air? Ah, sweet mysteries of life....

When it's all said and done, Strickland will prove to be even less of a governor than our last one. Has anybody seen any change in our school funding? Is the state economy booming or showing any signs of recovery since his return? The man's a joke and so is his administration.

I am very disappointed in Gov. Strickland. Seems big business is filling his pockets, too. I certainly won't vote for him again. He hasn't done much of anything he promised, and is, in fact, doing the opposite.
For anyone who thinks e-check is free: Do you pay taxes in Ohio? If so, E-check is costing you. When politicians tell you the state will pay for it, that money comes from all of us.
E-check does discriminate. I live in Medina Co. where we have E-check. There are cars from non- E-check counties driving here everyday who do not have these tests. Just count the Wayne Co. cars in Medina Co. business parking lots, if you don't believe me.

See your wrong again, I have a 2006 PT Cruiser and my car has no problems passing, it's just the point that every city in Ohio should have E-check. It doesn't make any sense at all to only have certain cities do the stupid check. There's so many things that pollute the air anyway it doesn't matter who pays for it to be done.

Amen, Michelle! My 1992 Mercury Tracer passed E-Check a year ago with flying colors and is still running fine. E-Check is nothing but a state sponsored scam using weak statistics to justify raising more money. Perhaps a petition drive should be started to force this to a county or statewide vote.

If it happens, it would get blown out of the water by the voters!

Hog wash!! Hmm The biggest city in Ohio -Columbus- doesnt have echeck--hmm cars there dont pollute?-hmmm- Stagnant business growth has nothing to do with so called air pollution- The reason is OHIO has one of the stangant business growth is the high taxes in this state-one of the highest in the country- & for sure there's industry polluting.
