I live in the tree streets and I have noticed that the squirrel population is getting out of hand. Also an unually large amount of rabbits has been popping up. I counted over 10 rabbits in my yard a couple of days ago. Now don't get me wrong, I love animals. They are cute. But they are also destructive. And carry fleas. I have had to poison my yard several times this year(which I don't like to do) and put frontline plus on my two dogs every two weeks because of the fleas. They are house dogs and only go out to pee. Tonite I walked out in my yard and the squirrel spray was so bad it bout knocked me over. Several people had cats around here and they controlled the situation a little but I haven't seen many cats around here this year. Anybody else have this problem or suggestions for some control. Does the city do anything about this?

Don't forget the crows. Guess it is illegal to shoot them? Even with BB guns.

Leave God's creatures alone. There are too many disease-spreading hillbillies around, so why not open a hillbilly spay and neuter clinic?

Here are some local answers to your problems: Eat the squirrels, chop the rabbits feet off for keychains. use the poison to make meth, tell the Chinese restaurant to stop killing the cats for the buffet, and let your dogs out to poop. According to you they only go out to pee. WTF?!? Its called NATURE. You live in the TREE streets. Squirrels live in TREES. I've seen your neighborhood and here's a news flash. It aint Beverly HIlls. Take what you can get and like it or move out to a better neighborhood. Are you sure you aren't in Napa Valley because I could have sworn you were in WHINE country.

While the squirrel population has appeared to increase , it really hasn't. The population is actually where it should be now that the poor unfortunate creatures are no longer the main course at many a hillbilly's Sunday dinner.I only wish the outlook for the groundhog and possum populations were as optimistic.

For all you smart jackasses out there, when the damn squirrels are chewing up the electric lines and tearing holes in your roof, or building nests on your gas flue then it's nature out of control. Rats are nature too but lets see how many of you will come to their defense. As for the rabbits they eat all the flowers up, dig holes in the yard and all of them carry fleas. They are also carriers of some pretty dangerous deseases that can be passed on to humans. The occasional rabbit is one thing but when it looks like a petting zoo in your yard it's another thing. I also noted that the tone some of your comments were rather biased on the "Yankee" side, hence your hillbilly comments. So I suggest you all pack up and head back up North where you belong. And take your tree hugging ways with you. Since a lot of you have come down here and don't think nothing of letting your yards go to pot and never trimming your tress or clearing away brush, it's no wonder we're being overrun.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what side of town you're from "JO MOMMA". It may not be Napa Valley but it's a lot better than where you live!

If you wouldn't construct your "lean to" from tar paper and flour sacks, the squirrels wouldn't eat your humble abode. Stop having sex with the rodents and you wont have to worry about animal diseases. Finally, my toothless untouchable, where I come from can be summarized like this: we don't eat our greens, we play on them. Enjoy a lifetime in poverty flats.

Well as the ole sayin goes, the grass or might I say "greens" must be greener here cuz yall damn yankees keep flockin down here by the thousands. Too many of yall move down here cuz this is a great place to live but it isn't no time that yall try to change it and ruin what you came down here fer. If yall don't like us hillbillies get the hell outta here and mind yer own business!
