For all of you that think PIA is not a school or a place full of losers then you haven't attended there or know people who have, and no I did not attend there. But I know people who have, and they are doing more with their lives then people who drop out or have even graduated a regular high school. They are taught things there that will be useful in life. So before you go and run your mouths about the people who go there, attend it yourself, spend a day in their shoes.The school system has given up on them or the people at the orginal school has bullied them to the point of no other choice, or for those who get made fun of everyday, or those who are socially awkward.

Pia is a joke the kids that went there are losers and always will be and they gave up not the high school. There lazy asses that want things given to them on the easy road. Noting is for free and you have to work for your goals.Grow up get a job and stop being a pussy as to the world is cruel and always will be!

PIA is for kids who just can't cut it in a traditional setting. No, I take that back. They are too lazy to try to cut it in a traditional setting. Alternative programs like PIA make it easy for kids to give up. Some kids have a hard time learning at OHS, or get teased by their peers, so they drop out and make a go of it at PIA. Well, guess what? Welcome to the real world. You are going to have a tough time in life, and if they are making fun of you now, then you better get used to it. I don't care if your parents are poor, or if you have some new fangled ADD or some "disorder" which requires drugs like ritalin. Grow up. The rest of the world doesn't care, either. Grow up and face your issues. PIA makes it easy for the lazy ones to drop out. I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating. In real life, I mean Life after PIA, there will be no breaks. If you have a bad day, the bank won't let you off the hook for your mortgage. Your boss won't care if you didn't hear your alarm and you were late. Taking the easy road and attending "high school lite" won't make it any easier for you in the future. If you are a misfit, and you can't handle it at a traditional high school, then you have what we call WEAK CHARACTER and you won't get very far in LIFE.

Why are PIA kids so lazy?

Okay, I will be happy to step down from my PERCH,(Or 'pirch" as you like to call it! hee hee hee) and 'splain to you why I think PIA kids are lazy.

High school isn't that hard. Especially by Northern Michigan Standards. Especially by Onaway standards. If you think High School is chanllenging at all, you are in for the shock of your life very soon. If you don't have the fortitude, the resilience and mostly the DRIVE to make it at a small school like Onaway, you are goddamn right I think you are lazy. Lazy and SOFT. Weak.

Let's try that again... read the question slowly this time so you understand it....

Why are PIA kids so lazy???

Hey Onaway mom, have your son punched in the back of the head and have nobody care but the cops. Have everyone around watch it happen and not to do a damn thing... What would you do? Have your child have fews friend because they are socially awkward, then what do you do? The real world is different then high school, you don't have to deal with the same people, bullshit death threats found in the girls bathroom. The real world you have a choice, in high school you don't. Especially in Onaway or Rogers City, you are treated like a freak if you don't like the same music as everyone else, if you don't have the money to wear name brand clothes. Or hey if you like darker colors, not doing sports, or if you don't party. So before you run your mouth about them being weak and going to PIA be glad they are still choosing to get an education. Because at 16 you can legally stop going to school.

You're far from being correct when you say that the kids that attend PIA are lazy. Maybe you know someone who goes to that school and they're lazy, but procrastination can be found in any kind of school through out the whole United States. The most minor imperfection can cause you a life of torment in some high schools, Onaway being the perfect example due to the size of our town. Do you realise how cruel kids can be? I see that you're a mom, so tell me this "Onaway MOM" what if your child was being tortured everyday at school? Would you let them go to PIA? Being the center of every other child's joke can break anyone down.. What if your child became suicidal because not one staff member took the time out of their "busy" day to take care of a very important issue. Obviously your priorities aren't intact, because it sounds to me like you're all about reputation. Therefore you think that your child is too good to go to PIA. The graduates from PIA recieve the same diploma as those from the High School. Did you know that? Probably not. And as Pfc said "the school system gives up on them". Did you know that if you have the right last name the school will let your child fly through without a full understanding of what they're learning? I attended PIA, recieved my diploma from there, and I'm currently on my second year of college. So lazy? I don't think so. I'm sure that you're not that accomplished yourself, just arrogant.

Just to let all of you know, I graduated from an alternative program in Cheboygan and now I have a bachelors degree in elementary education. Not all people who attend these alternative programs are lazy, I worked very hard to get to where I am today. These programs are available to students who, for some reason cannot attend traditional high school. It is sad when kids who may not have as much ambition are stereotyped as being lazy. I think that all kids can learn if their needs are being met. Do not make remarks unless you have spent a day in their shoes. Many of these kids have had no guidance whatsoever.

Wow!!!! To group EVERY teacher in that group is harsh. While I will agree with you that A LOT of them don't care, there are a lot that do. You can't blame all of them. Kuddos to the kids at PIA that do something with thier lives and go on to college. I think it is about time to stop slamming both PIA and OHS. There are good and bad at BOTH!!!!!!!! Look in the newspapers and listen to the news, EVERY school around has issues. Grow up and be parents and support your kids and faculty whether they are at OHS OR PIA!!!!!!

I find it hard to believe you graduated from OHS, PIA, or ANY institution, for that matter. Your spelling and grammar are an embarassment to either school.

well i have many many friends down at PIA. and let me tell you i am a teenager so i know whats going on. so to all you parents who think you know. your wrong. but they are all pot heads, im not going to say all but most and some pill heads. not me being nasty but its the truth, most of them im friends with, i dont agree with what they do but it is what it is. they get an hour lunch to do drugs and 15 min "breaks" hmm an awesome time to smoke especially because there are NO TEACHERS or adults allowed in the break area OUTSIDE, hmm i wonder what thats about?!?!
