Help needy families celebrate Christmas

tHIS HAS BEEN A REALLY HARD YEAR FOR EVERYONE, i HAVE NEVER ASKED FOR HELP BEFORE, BUT I KNOW MY KIDS DESERVE A CHRISTMAS EVEN IF i CAN'T PROVIDE ONE THIS YEAR. I HAVE BEEN LAYEDOFF 6 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. MY SON IS 8YEARS OLD, LOVES ANYTHING WRESTLING, MY DAUGHTER IS 16, BLOW DRYER, OR FLAT IRON ARE HER WISHES. ANY HWELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I am feeling your pain. I too have found myself in a similar situation. I was in the hospital over the summer (and off work for 6 weeks) due to Ecoli poisoning that I contracted from having my galbladder removed. Our family got behind in bills at that time, and I found myself back in the hospital the day before Thanksgiving getting a hernia repair/scar reduction surgery. I was to be off of work for another 6 weeks, but talked the doctor into letting me go back because I could not afford the time off work. Last week my mother was placed in the hospital due to "abdominal pain", only to be brought to the harsh realization that she will be lucky to spend another year with us because the doctors have diagnosed her with stage 4 ovarian cancer. I put off asking for help because I was too proud to admit that I had a need, thought that if I just stuck my head in a hole Christmas would just go away, and found things too bleak to even aknowlege there might be a solution. However, after seeing my kids faces last night, watching "Rudolph", I now realize that it's their Grandma too and my hurting pride should not affect how they feel Chrismas morning. Unfortunately, now that I got enough courage to reach out for help, I'm told that the toy drives are over. I have 3 children, who at this point don't even have a Christmas tree, their ages are a 5yr old boy, 10yr old boy and a 15yr old girl. I am a mother of two loving kids.My son is 8 and lost his father a year ago and he really dont like to talk about him to much.I also have a three year old daughter her father is around when he wants to be.I lost my job around the same time my son lost his father and this has been the hardest time of year for me.I get help from D.S.S but no cash.I moved back in with my mother and her boy friend and they dont have the money to help.They have three kids of there own and they dont know how they are going to give there three girls a good Chrismas. I really need help this year for Chrismas.

Hello my name is Wendy, I just moved to Des Moines Iowa, with my three daughters, i am a single mother of three girls ages 16,14,10 I moved here do to my daughters father is very abuseive and I neede to get away from that situation for my kids. WE moved here, its like 13 % and we only have sweat shirts and no jackets, the girls only have like two parir of pants each and I have One as well. I dont have a place to sta, right now I am place to place with my daughters, I going to be starting a job on the 5th of January, wont get paid ro the middle of January. IF anyone woulf help me out to help give my girls a christmas i would be most grestful please.
