My recommendation to the adult community is to simply sit on the safety of your own front porch, crack a cold beer, and watch the mayhem unfold.

Big deal, school starts and a few students drink too much. This is hardly newsworthy.
It is a BIG DEAL if someone is injured or killed as a result of drinking and or drinking and driving. Just ask any family members whose relatives' lives were snuffed out due to bad choices made by others who didn't think drinking was a big deal.

I saw the one girl, Kelsi Webb, when she returned to her apartment. She was so wasted that it took her over 15 minutes trying various keys to get into her apartment. Finally two other girls had to help her. What a shame! Plus, I heard it was her second offense. She's done. Bye, Bye Ship!
Sounds like someone didn't get a fraternity bid.

Does it all matter, on July 3,an individual was arrested for DUI, he got 18 months suspensation of driver's lic. and class for drinking. It was 3 offense, but rated as 1st offense. 9 years between last one and this one.

A lot of people are acting like this is an institutional mandate.
What ever happened to people being responsible for themselves?
Don't take some kid sleeping on the sidewalk and make him representative of the campus as a whole. That's every bit as wrong as to claim that it is not a concern.
It certainly is a concern, but it's more a function of 20-year-olds acting stupid, as 20-year-olds are bound to do, than it is about Bill Ruud and Co. not caring about it.
Are you saying that Rudd and Co. do or do not care about this problem?

I am saying they do indeed care about it, and take actions on it.

Would you care to elaborate on that? I think we would all be interested.

There are two that made today's headlines that the cops didn't arrest soon enough. I guess I'm just getting old - don't have patience for drunks and their "adventures" anymore.

There are many serious responsible students at SU and every college or university. However, on the weekends you will most likely find them at home, working part-time at Walmart to help pay for there education and on the internet preparing their classwork for the coming week.

Like Gresham's Law that bad money drives out good money, bad students drive out good students. I worked for 20 years at an undergraduate coed college and the sensible students left for home on Thursday and returned on Monday. This was because the dorms were so undesirable from bathrooms filthy from vommit snf rowdy drunks staggering sll over and threatening the residents. I have seen stoned students walk though plate glass doors and run off into the night leaving a trail of blood. The library had to hire and armed guard to keep out the drunks and other creeps so that real students could study in safety. This element of the college community can find the bucks for booze and drugs but it complains bitterly about tuition raises and expect that taxpayers to dig into their pockets to raise additional funds. Drunken adolescents tend to become very mobile and head for anything with wheels and an engine and become a menace to sober drivers.

Enough of this youthful indiscretion nonsense. If we can expect an 18-year-old soldier to desport him/heself appropriately, we can expect it from an 18-year old civilian receiving a state subsidized education.

I can't, Really. I'm just talking generalities. Are you saying that they DON'T do anything to discourage underage drinking?

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Leo

If you look closely, you'll see a black cloud hovering over a loved one's head. They'll find the smallest excuse for losing their temper or throwing a tantrum, so tiptoe around them or try to jolly them out of their filthy mood. If the situation continues you may decide that it would be better to get the inevitable argument out of the way than to pussyfoot around them any longer.
