A few years ago, coming back from getting lost in tennessee, we found our way through Guthrie, KY and my wife squalled when she saw the "Longhurst General Store".
I was born in England and the name is not very common and to see it in KY was a bit of a shock. My sister is into geneology and has traced a lot of the family line migrating from Kent, UK to New York, NY and then some moved to Salt Lake City, UT and some she lost track of. Seeing as the line the Mormon's used during that time period would most likely take them through KY, I was just wondering if it may be possible that we are distant relatives. I was wondering if you knew who your descendants are that settled in the area. My sister has a good list of those that came to America at http://www.123people.co.uk/ext/frm... **http%253A%2F%2Fweb.ukonline. co.uk%2Fkaren.mountstevens%2Fw ilhenlon.htm§ion=biogr aphy&wrt_id=107 I'd be interested if you found any descendant in her list. Thanks. |
