Your efforts to address underage drinking are to be commended and so important -- the U.S. Surgeon General reports that persons ages 18-20 have the highest rate of alcohol dependence (alcoholism) in the U.S. In my work, I'm finding that the new brain research on brain development, ages 12 - 25, is also helping people better understand and appreciate the reasons underage drinking is different and more problematic than drinking as an adult.
