Wow! That's all that comes to mind at first... but remember, yes, he's MARRIED WITH TWO CHILDREN and this area is SO small... keep them in mind because they are the innocent ones along with all of the ones in the pictures....

Kudos to the Massachusetts State Police detective computer recovery unit. This is clearly a job well done. While these perverse acts went undetected by the North Adams police, one can only surmise if other officers are involvied in akin criminal conduct.

In the small city of North Adams, everybody knows what's happening with each other. Why is this coming to the forefront now? Whom knew what and when?

One can only pray that this perverse conduct is not contagious upon neighboring police departments (e.g., Lanesborough). A few in the Lanesborough Poice Department have posted on Facebook, for example, digital images of their shirtless minor children. That type of behaviour is unacceptable for a police officer/ parent entrusted with protecting minor children's right to privacy. Perhaps Mass. State Police's computer unit should begin prelimenary enquiries into those enhanced versions of what's become socially unacceptable conduct!

I only hope the state police, together with the dilegence of DA Capeless, uncover whatever scheme is being perpatrated by the North Adams police upon innocent, unsuspecting minors. This is just one reason (in a sea of reassons) why Joseph Stalin Barrett should be replaced.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and children. Let's hope people will remember that they are victims in this as well. They need your support. Imagine what those children will have to endure in school. How painful for that wife to even go to the grocery store......
Please be gentle with them during this devastating time.

This is so typical of people who don't read, they just see what they want. Where in this story did the CITY of NORTH ADAMS get mentioned, or for that matter John Barrett? It happened in ADAMS.

To all the hard working members of APD. I am sorry you have to endure a difficult time for your agency. Keep your heads held high. People make mistakes, some more severe than others. One can only hope this is not what it appears to be. One should be considered innocent until proven guilty. However charges like these are very difficult to explain away. The Town will endure this black day adn life will go on. However,....... explotitaion of children can not be tolerated..............AT ALL

My heart goes out to his wife and children....if he really did this I have no sympathy for him. His innocent family on the other hand....will be going thru hell because of his actions!
WHAT was he thinking? He is police officer!and to do this on a police computer was INSANE! Did he want to get caught?

How sad! Even more sad that this is such a small town that this poor family (wife & kids) will be living it everyday. The people are all small minded. My heart goes out to the kids and his wonderful wife! May they somehow get through this with as little devestation as possible!

By they way I do feel for the mans family because it is going to be humiliating for them and they will probably end up moving due to this incident but the victim(s)are more important. the child in the video is probably going to be scarred for life thanks to this pervert. And unfortunately their is probably more children waiting to come out of the woodwork with allegations of this man sexually assaulting them. usually pervs like him have been at it a long time.

Their is a BIG difference between having a picture of your child with their shirt off and a photo of them jerking off. Ive seen diaper commercials that show a baby's butt on T.V. Does that make it porn? Normal society does not get off to images like that and if you find a picture of a young child with their shirt off to be sexually suggestive then you've probably got something wrong with you.Obviously there needs to be a line drawn as to how old the child is in the picture and whether it is male or female.

Early morning typo. You've heard of typos, right?
Perhaps I was thinking of the incident in North Adams when one officer was charged (and later acquited) of child molestation. Adams, North Adams; tomato, tomato. Whatever!

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Gemini

It's a busy day and you've got quite enough to do without having to cope with people clamoring for your attention and likely to go into a huff if they don't get it. Is this person feeling neglected because you're busily occupied elsewhere or are there other reasons for their demanding mood? Simply giving them a big hug could make all the difference to their behavior.
