Here's a thought - if a person doesn't like a smoky bar/restaurant, that person can choose not to spend their money there. Why does big brother have to be involved? I'm a non-smoker and if a place is distasteful to me, I simply don't go there. Don't our lawmakers and regulators have a few more important things to worry about these days when WE can make an individual choice to patronize a smoke-filled establishment or not?

What a joke. Does anyone else notice that they went to upscale bars where there really wasn't much smoking to begin with and asked them how their business was going? Let's avoid the bar owners that are really hurting due to this because of the skewed rules on exemptions.

Non smokers should have places they can go without dealing with smoke but smokers should have the same rights. I am a smoker and I am able to go to either type of place. I do respect the non smokers and I will not smoke in my own home if I have a non smoking guest. This should not be a decision left up to "The Man" but rather each establishments owner.

I don't smoke. I don't like to be in areas where people smoke. But to ban smoking in a designated Cigar Bar? Insanity! Typical braindead, one size fits all, government BS...

Any tax exempt political action committee (charity) that spends huge sums of money to hire lobbyists to make laws using THREATS, INTIMIDITATION, LAW ENFORCEMENT, and SNITCHING to FORCE people to OBEY their guidelines will get NO DONATIONS from me. Here are the rest of them, all fed by big pharma through their Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Please think before you write, yes it is a terrible habit I agree but you just want to bash people. You have said nothing about the topic but rather tell smokers how low they are. I have a six figure income so I am not low income trash and I am sure that I have more self esteem in my little toe than you have in your entire body

Pa is not the first state to go with a smoking ban. So, any argument from a venue owner that it's going to have a long term impact on their business is moot. Society adjusts. And while I don't like big brother snooting around all the time and there are "polite" smokers out there, the rank and file of smokers simply lights up in confined spaces, fires up a cigar and so on.

I'm an X-smoker. For a number of health issues, I avoid excessively smokey venues or limit my time at them. All those other arguments (trash, low self esteme, and so on) about smokers just isn't so.

It's a habit that infringes upon others if done excessively. I support venue's that improve their HVAC systems to help vent out smoke. But, smokers must be aware of the higher profile people have to good health these days and peoples wish NOT to inhale second hand smoke.

I'll be tolarant providing somebody doesn't blow the smoke in my face. Do that and we get a law that says you can't smoke at all.

I always ask for a non-smoking room when I make hotel reservations.

If the hotel is foolish enough to allow smoking I book a room elsewhere

Let smokers filthy their own places

what I dont understand is why they deny so many applications to be allowed to have smokers, clearly they who ever applied considered most of their clientele were/are smokers.

If you're intelligent enough to make a good income, how can you be so stupid to be a drug addict?

Tobacco use is drug addiction. An economy that is based, or contributed to by cultivating and then taking advantage of drug addicts is immoral and counter-productive.
