General Lee wrote: I just want to see a 100% audit of all section 8 housing voucher recepients, and eliminate those stealing or fraudulantly abusing the program, taken out of it. I also want periodic checks on those receiving these vouchers to make sure they are keeping up with the standards of the community. Once again, the honest people have nothing to worry about. I love you...this is perfectly said and I agree 100%!!

System is screwed wrote: Majority of the people on section 8 are the lazy American born that dropped out of high school, never went to college and never held a full time job long enough. Then by the time they were an adult realized they had to get their act together. So sick of the system paying for these lazy uneducated people, who don't want to make an effort in getting a REAL FT job. But why would they? Their rent is paid almost in full, free food, free daycare, free food. Us taxpayers foot the bill for these people. I went to school, Got my degree and have been working the last 10 years to save enough for a home that I can't even buy because the rich keep inflating housing prices. While those on section 8 are living the life with cable, Internet, remodeled apartments all for free off my labor! agree

I paid $1600 mortgage my neighbor pays $200. She is currently arrested for check fraud and her bad ass kids are roaming the street, selling drugs out of the pool. the police are called daily nothing done. I do not let my kids out the house. My neighbor sister owns the house and rent it out to her. So she does not work, collect welfare and only have to come up with $200 a month while the government pays the landlord ( her sister) a nice fat check....

All I hear is a bunch of complainers,I have no problem paying taxes to someone who is down on their luck and is going to college so they can find work and be responsible and then use their taxes dollars to someone that was in the same situation as they once were, however there are some out there that abuse the program and become comfortable and never take advantage of their rent being payed while they go back to school,it's never to late,a person can truly be whatever they want in life, they just have to make it happen.I would be miserable if all I did was compare my neighbors rent and lifestyle to mine,i would rather be fortunate enough to pay my own rent and have a descent job to do it with. Some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouth and live fabulous work free lives, but I don't want to pout and wish it was me,I have to live my life and take it as it comes,Time to get a grip.

I'm not from GA, but I was trying to research on reporting fraud for section 8. I have lived in my neighborhood for 14 years and it was quiet and a pleasant place to live. We have had three families to move into the neighborhood and living here is a nightmare. The one family is renting section 8. The other family is there because of a separation and the third family lucky got qualified and is buying that house. There were three lot vacant for a number of years and a contractor got a hold to the lots and build three home under 1,000 sq. ft housing. The saying you can take them out of the projects, but you can't take the project out of them. These animals run through your yards, place ball in the streets, they own it. I ask them to stay out of my property it does do any good. I've called the police. They come nothing is done.

you people sound ridiculous. U dont know what these people went thru in their life If u didnt make enough trust me ur ass would apply for section 8. If they closed projects and ended all gov ass.. alot of people and children would be homeless with nothing. Life is un excepted. U dont know whats going to happens. People have kids young maybe because their beliefs are different then others. I cant believe you people. Alot of section 8 people work, everything is based on their income. U people are sad. Get a life. just because u have to pay taxes and the whole shit. people deserve a chance at life. If the government didnt do what they do for low income families. There would be alot more homeless which is wat worse.

I don't know what state you are in and if S8 rules are different in other states but I work for a housing authority and yes some people have their rent totally covered under S 8 and S8 is not temporary and is portable from one city to another you may want to check with HUD - and some S 8 landlords are excellent and some are slumlords just the way that it is.

While the rest of us work our asses off and eat ramen noodles to pay our bills and go to school. The tax payer isn't responsible for your poor judgment in who you chose to marry. Do you think you are the only one who got out of a bad marriage and was left with nothing? Sugar coat it however you want, you are a leech on society.
