Fire expands into Acton, containment remains low

Full story: LA Daily News

The stubborn Station Fire that began near La Canada Thursday moved north and bore down on Acton this morning, after burning through 35,000 acres of forest land, destroying nearly 30 recreational cabins in the Big Tujunga Canyon area, and leaving a thick shroud of smoke over the San Fernando Valley.

As fire and public safety resources are allocated, I hope L.A. County Fire Department will remember to protect Shambala, the animal sanctuary in Acton, CA where the fire is supposedly heading.

As described in the story above, Shambala is the homes of lions, tigers and other large cats.

Shambala sits along the banks of a creek, with a heavy tree cover to protect the animals from the sun. Say a prayer that they are protected from the fire as well.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Nature's way is to renew the forest by fire, unfortunately, too many homes have been built up box canyons and brushy areas, etc. and these people who were fool enough to buy in an area like that deserve what can happen.
I hope our firefighters will be able to remain safe in the course of their duties.

It seems like it's time our Government was better able to deal with these ever increasing forest fires. It seems like a job for the National Guard, maybe instead of bailing out the bankers we can use some stimulus cash on more firefighters, planes and helicopters to put these blazes out.

Police alleged that the boy used his own rifle to shoot his father and then called authorities. Arriving at the family's home Thursday evening, police found 42-year-old Byron Hilburn with a head wound. He was pronounced dead at an Albuquerque hospital.

The youth reportedly told officers that he thought his father was disciplining him too harshly and too often, according to KOAT-TV

>> Add 'arson' and 'bestiality' to the laundry list of psychoses <<

Observations of subject by Dr. A. Shaman:

Subject apparently never bonded with his mother, who died early in his life, probably as a result of risky living. This points to the subject's preoccupation with others' mothers.

Subject has never mentioned his father, and shows great distaste for other males, including myself. His obsession with the male anatomy and homosexual references suggest that the subject may very well have been sexually molested by an adult male, possibly the father. He represses his sexual desires and is awkward when dealing with his female peers.

Subject has deep insecurities, as indicated by his need to feel superior to others, while at the same time exhibiting extremely low self-esteem, brought about, perhaps, by the afore mentioned lack of maternal love and possible sexual deviancy. He usually shies away from any sort of intimate interaction with others, and is only able to feel free to express himself when presented with the opportunity to be anonymous. Yet he feels the need to be the center of attention in any given situation, as it lends a sense of validity to his demonstrations.

All of these anti-social behaviours point toward a diagnosis of 'borderline personality disorder'. Intensive therapy above and beyond the scope of 'Topix' is indicated, and great care should be given in this matter in order to alleviate the possibility of a partial or total emotional breakdown of this individual.

Sincerely, Dr. A. Shaman

PEOPLE, you can not be this dumb. Do you actually think that arsonists started all 14 fires? The lame ass fire dept. has everyone fooled. It is so funny how fires seem to always now start at the same time every year and yes I know it is summer but these aholes are the ones starting these fires and don't bother putting them out while they are still manageable. This way, now that they are out of control they can collect their overtime from the state and when time comes for the states budget the fireman are asking for money to better fight these fires. They have the entire public fooled!

what the hell does this or the comment above yours have to do with the fires?? and how the hell did htis become a political thing?? he's the president of the UNITED STATES, not the president of California! That would be Arnold S. and all he does is talk about how sad it is that we have lost some firefighters, and people need to listen to the authorites and get out when they tell them to....basically all he does is talk! Get off your Republican ass and do something yourself, Shaman, instead of making this political....which I just did too, but whatever lol.

I am praying that the fires do not get close to, or damage, Tippi Hedren's Shambala Preserve.....and all humans and animals stay safe from flames or smoke inhalation.
If they do have to evacuate, then God speed.....be safe regardless.
