Well if the driver of the crown vic was being chased by Charles county Sheriffs, why haven't he been arrested (for evading and eluding police)???

secondly, since the accident occurred on the PG side of 210, the crown vic driver still was not charged for the accident either.

Sounds like the witnesses don't have their facts together. Even if they say the Crown Vic driver didn't have his lights on how could they actually say for sure he didn't. Yes, when you burn tires it creates a cloud of smoke however, the smoke does not dissipate immediately. The crown vic could have come through the smoke at the point where it was still foggy with his viewing. They want to place all the blame on everyone else but themselves. Point one, in maryland if you are standing in the road and NOT in a crosswalk, the person can not be charged with hitting you. I don't think that the driver will be charged for the accident no matter how hard prosecution attorneys may try. Yes, everyone wants someone to be accountable but the ones who should be accountable are now dead unfortunately. My condolences to ALL that had loves one injured or killed. It is a tragedy.

Such a sad story. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding their deaths, they are human beings. Human beings who have families that loved them deeply. Sending lots of loving prayers to the families involved. May God give you peace in knowing that they are now in the arms of the most high. We will all be reunited, every single last one of us. Even the heartless ones. We will all be transformed. The ones here who spew hatred and ugliness, are also in need of loving prayer and loving kindness. There is something wrong when a person has little compassion for others just because they may lead a different type of life. That something is a lack of love and a strong sense of fear in their own lives. May God wrap His loving arms around us all.... for one day we will be brothers and sisters. He will wipe away all tears.

It has has NOTHING todo with Color or Racist. These type of people are the ones we are seeing blaming it on everyone except the ones out there at 3 AM doing something illegal. Those type of people. It is people like you that automaticly try to make it a race issue and that is why we still have Race problems. Point and Fact. Stupid people out doing illegal things at 3am. Something bad happened not rocket science.

The below comment is one of the best I agree. We need to stop this stupid practice. And I do feel for the families. I do not feel for the families already looking for a payday from this hoorible event. And there are a few. But I do feel sorry for the good family members who had a stupid member of there famil do something this stupid and will effect them for the rest of thier lives.

This event had nothing to do with someone's race. I know people who attend these events who I hope now will realize what a danger this type of entertainment can cause and just because I know someone who attends them doesn't mean I agree with what they were doing either. Most of the people who attend these events are there for the excitement. I think we all need to pray for all the victims and their families and friends. People make mistakes and you have to hope they will learn from them. It is easier to place blame now but we should be concentrating on what can be done to stop it from happening again

There is no reason why the people who were killed should have been killed. It is a trajic accident that they were run over, but they had no business being on such a dangerous road at 3:30 in the morning to watch an illegal street race. The people who were racing should have gone to Budd's Creek and paid the fee to race if they so felt the need, but they are now to ashamed to reveal themselves for causing those poor souls to ventrue to a dangerous stretch of highway and getting them run over from the smoke screen they created. Now there is one poor soul who will have to live with the thought that he killed eight peopole on accident because of their ignorance, a pain most won't be able to comprehend. As for the peoplecomplaining about there not being enough police activity in that area, they are the same no-count people who complain about there being to many cops in the area when they get caught with dope, but when their blatent refusal to follow the laws causes them to loose a friend, they look for the easiest person to blame it on, and that just happened to be the police. It is a trajedy that the community lost such outstanding citizens that night, but whose fault is it really that they were out at three thirty in the morning on one of the most dangerous stratches of highway in the area?

One of the vitims was the nephew of a coworker of mine. As sorry as I am for her loss, there is no one to blame but the people that were out at that hour of the morning. 210 is a well traveled road at any hour of the day or night. Most illegal drag racing that is done in southern maryland is done on roads that are not such a high traffic area as that. Put your self in the drivers seat, at that time of the morning going down the road, the last thing you expect to see are 100 people standing in the middle of it.
And you are one hundred percect correct. But I will not be driving at over 100 mph with my lights off. It does not matter how many people that are standing in the street I will be able to stop at 55 or 65 mph. Trust me, if you drive you know what I mean.

Do not even think about charging that driver. People who engage in self-destructive, anti-social, and deviant behavior, have to just except the consequences of their poor choices. That was an illegal event that people made the choice to participate in. So what I hope this incident does is servce as an example to other potential drag race participants and spectators. My heart however goes out to the families who are mourning the loss of their loved ones who made a choice to participate in the event that ultimately took their lives.

This is NOT the culture for everybody that lives in southern maryland. Many of us live here and want rid of this type of trouble. Many parts have turned ghetto but no different than any other county. I agree with most what was a 13 year old doing out there with what you call a so called parent. I hope somebody is looking into that one. As for these IDIOTS that were on the side of the road or in the middle of the road participating in ILLEGAL acitivity well you live by the sword and you die by the sword. The family members should be ashamed to get on TV. As for the kid in the crown vic, well maybe he didn't have a license and he shouldn't of been driving but that doesn't mean he expected to see all these people in the middle of the road at that hour.

Im local so dont hate please dont tell me that you are perfect and always do the speed limit. If you were as educated as you claim to be you would know that at a speed of 55 mph it is quite easy to "throw around body parts" especially if you are going down the road and can't stop or slow down before the impact.

Yes I do and NO HATE. I had two friends out there that were killed. All I am saying is that at those speeds if you had your lights on that you could have seen something in front of you and at lease made some effort to avoid something in wich you will not be going at that rate of speed anymore. If you received this email with the video where are the people? If there were lights on you should be able to see some body out there. This guy went by so fast his brake lights were a blur.

I see everyone is judging street racing. And rightfully so. It's illegal for a reason. My question is why aren;t people getting this pissed over drunk driving, since DUI kills more than street racing ever dreamed, and is every bit as preventable?

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Capricorn

You'll have difficulty finding equilibrium in your emotional life at the moment; try to control the impulsive side of your character. At work, your usual powers of intuition will be clouded. Fits of feverishness may bother you and break down your energy. If you can get out into the countryside for a walk, you'll feel much better.
