What do you mean by "looked like a dying town"? I have lived here all my life and never thought it looked like it was dying. I think the ladies before the so called "tourism" came to town did a wonderful job at keeping the town beautiful.
I don't think she meant it the way you took. Yes indeed Confluence park and surrounding areas with the flowers and natures view is pretty. And that loving touch from the locals and TLC really sets it off, It is done I know with love from those who take pride in Confluence and sends a good impression to all who pass through. But the town seems like a ghost town at times to me also. When driving through towm on occassion there is no traffic on many days or weekends. If you notice sometimes even the local bars (which it is a blessing) on weekend are evne closed down by as early as 11 pm. It seems like after 6 everyone has done all the store shopping and are home watching txv or just enjoying a chat in the back yard and perhaphs a few walking or riding a bike through town, I'd say even those drinking or doing the wacky weed are doimg it in there own homes now. Which is why I dont understand what all this talk is about crime so high in Confluence . You have crime everyone does; but not that bad. Maybe once in a while but not to the point I think its been told by some.Confluence over all is quiet, And it is small.
