They have their menu posted on their website. Lunch dinners are around $8 to $10 dollars. Good food.

Their hos are overpriced too! They charge way too much for no more than they give you.

I like the place. It's a neat little restaurant for Abingdon and it gives The Tavern a run for it's money. They have a great bar too.

According to their website they will be closed the month of January because it's what they call the slow season and they will use the time to make improvements to their place. That's all I know.

Well that's kinda lame, what restaraunt closes for a month?

Seems as though they closed for part or all of January last year as well. You have to do what you have to do to survive in a tough economy. The restaraunt business is very difficult even in a good economy. When business is slow for an extended period of time you still have to pay all the overhead, payroll, etc. If the business is slow then you're running in the red making it even more difficult. Rain is an awesome eatery with excellent food and service.

The economy sucks but people will always eat out, if you can't survive a slow month in any business then you are doomed anyway.

I agree with you. Most everything in Abingdon is over priced. It's really strange but than again Abingdon is a strange part of Virginia.

You have all the wannabe business men who can't pay their rent or the light bill and they wanna act as if though they are "high end.". Its just an "image", the success speaks for itself or lack thereof.

My guess is they're closing because they want to improve the restaurant; as previously stated. Its not that uncommon seeing as January is typically the slowest month of the year. It's probably wise instead of "lame".

I wish them all the best. I think Rain enhances the dining experience in Abingdon!

Its not very wise to close a business for a month, there must be a problem if a business is so slow in a month that they can't stay open. Its willa jacks all over again. High end bar closing in a year.
