i am the father of the children and the husband i really don't like when some of you people are commented badly about this situtation me and my family has lost a great deal and you guys are wondering if these girls should get credit for what they did sure they should and yes they did do a good thing but it still didn't change the outcome of what happened maybe how many of you that are commenting about what happened gave the fire department a helping hand or see how me and my family is doing. i feel maybe you guys shouldn't be commented on a sitution that doesn't concern you also for the people who don't smoke that want to comment negative towards us for smoking get your facts straight about what caused the fire. we are clean and responsible smokers it was the butt can that had a little of potting soil that ignited the fire and the butt can was outside we never smoked inside are house so before you comment negativly towards me and my family come talk to me i will be gladly to set the facts straight for you.
i am the neighbor of the watson's and have know them since they lived here. yes my little girls did a good job and their yelling paid off. it is a very sad situation i felt so helpless seeing it spread so fast and not be able to do anything. i agree with mark. they are very responsible smokers and it is true they do not smoke inside they are outside smokers that are responsible with their smoking. please do not judge them for what happened it was that due to being careless. i was upset it was quoted as that in the gettysburg times. to many people judge before they know the facts. also it was true alot of people were driving by and when the fire was going on they were out here taking pics with their cell phones. no one but one person standing in front of our house asked if the owners were ok and if everyone was out. i feel so sad for them they are good neighbors that never bother anyone and they are hard workers. it takes years to work for all you have and lose it in a few minutes. it is very sad and i ask that god be with them in their time of loss. to mark and his family if there is anything you need don't hesitate to ask. we are here for you. i am just so glad no one was in there and that your family of pets were safe and sound.

Wondering where we can take donations. I called the Red Cross previously and they do not take clothing donations. I am so sorry for your loss. No one should ever have to go through losing everything. Thank goodness the pets and your family were ok.

Mr. Watson, very sorry for your loss.

Looking at the pictures provided by 911 Photography, it appears that the truss roof failed very early on. Another reminder that while they are cheaper and more efficient to use in building, they stand no chance when affected by high heat/ or a fire.

Watsons, hope you are back on your feet again.

Hey Lisa....perhaps you can drop off some of the sandwich fundraiser forms at houses on the street. I know I can sell a bunch at work and am happy to do more than just buy a few for our family.

Great job to the girls for quickly acknowledging the fire.

Mark, I am sooo sorry you are going through this right now. All I could do that evening was bring down the boxes I had to you guys since I was at work when this all happened. Please know that my family will be glad to help in any other way you need to help you guys get back on your feet.

Mr Watson, first let me say I am very happy you and your family are safe, had this happened later that evening just prior to your family going to bed, the end result could have resulted in loss of life. I am not judging you for your smoking habit, hell Im not judging you at all. There is a valubale lesson to be learned here for everyone that has smokers in their households or visitors who smoke. A lit cigarrete is a open flame, as seen, they can cause massive damage. I commend you for your habit of smoking outdoors, I do wish in that bucket was water instead of whatever was used to extinguish your hot cigs. Obviously this one was not put out 100%, which happens daily when people toss them out their windows etc. the destruction is seen every year out west with massive wild fires, and more times than not started by carless or reckless disgarding of lit cigaretsm and every year firemen die putting out these fires.
Hopefully other smokers will have read your story, and learn from it is all anyone can ask for.

Being a dog lover, I was very happy to see your dogs, and cat made it out safely. I was standing there when you said the brown dog normally hides under the couch, my first reaction was, no way it survived. Im happy for you that your entire family is still all together. Best of luck to you, rebuilding wont be easy, but your family is all together and that is what builds a home.It sounds like you have some awesome neighbors and friends, lean on them, they are offering their help in your time of need.Thats the true meaning of a neigborhood.

I'm so glad the pets were saved. Thing's can be replaced but not lives!
Hope the family is able to find safe shelter till their home is repaired.
I would want someone (like a neighbor) to either help get my pets out, as I would do for any of my neighbors, or let someone know their in their. Nothing in my home means more to me than my pets!

I am truly appalled by some peoples comments! These people lost everything! What does it matter who called 911 first? To the parents of the twins, you've done a great job teaching them when you see something thats not right to alert you,GREAT JOB GIRLS BUT we shouldn't teach children we only do these things for recognition please emphisize that we do good deeds to help others and to feel good about ourselves!! TO the other comment about a grown man hearing the girls yell did you not read that that grown man is DEAF?????? The home owner says they never smoked in their home and that they did have a butt can outside, they were being responsible! I never knew that potting soil is flamible, DID YOU?! As a community what are we going to do to help this family? To all the passers by why didn't you get out of your cars and offer assistance? Because we've become a "rubber-necker" society! Never wanting to get our hands dirty just wanting to see the action! SHAME ON YOU!!! I'm so glad the family wasn't harmed and the animals were saved. Lets start thinking about others feeling before we make comments! Because we never know what is in our futures, in my experience Karma has a way of biting us in the butt! and we wouldn't want anyone saying nasty things about our tragedy!

Thanks again for the compliments regarding my work.
As for why they are for sale, its a business. Im a photographer, thats what we do, we well our work.
In regards to what sells normally, its mostly the firefighters buying photos of themselves doing a hard job. They make great scrapbook memories for the years to come to share with thier grandchildren.
Its awesome these two young children were observant of the happenings in their community, its shows they have some good parenting going on. Kudos to these young children.
The owner is actually the person responsible for the recovery of the brown dog though, sorry girls. He is the one who told the guys directly to look under the couch in the front room, he stated the dog usually hung out there. The fireman picked the couch up and the dog was there as predicted.
Good job to the resonding departments, they worked well together and the job got done.
Selling pictures of other people tragedy to make a profit? You are one sick puppy. Are you too cheap to run an ad in the Evening Sun? Stop posting your website on here. Legitiment businesses PAY to adverise on the web.

Legitimate complaints come from people who dont hide behind a screen name. My business is legitimate, I pay taxes on my earnings, I donate to various charities through my business and I make a profit from my business. Everything a business is supposed to do the last time I checked.

While your complaining about me, and obviously its a personal thing you have against me, which is fine, no complaints from me there, I cant please everyone. Have you taken the time to write to the Hanover Evening Sun and even Fox news 43 who made thousands of dollars off these peoples misfortunes, as well as thousands of others over the years? They make a profit off news stories, which sadly means hundreds of misfortunes, from homes burning, fatal accidents, shootings, robberies and even people dying of natural causes obituaries cost you money to be placed in papers these days. How many phone calls or negative postings have you made regarding thier coverage of these events?

My business pretty much advertises itself, the ones who need to know about my business or want to know abut it find it. Until the Evening Sun makes a rule about adding links, I guess they are OK with it, so its really is none of your business in the least.

I will sign my name, I expect you will to verses being a coward and hiding behind Hnvr Res.

News media has a college education and a press pass.... you just have a camera.

I am not hiding behind a screen name, Hnvr Res is my real name.

I am so glad I know YOUR real name, so now I know I will never use your services. Make up any excuse you want. To me you are just white trash with a scanner and a camera.

Go throw another brick through someones livingroom window like you do so well.(That is why I won't post my real name, I don't want you to vandelize MY house.)

A cigarette? How is that possible with the new cigarettes of today that are suppose to go out if not being smoked? Must of been a faulty cigarette. And who would put out a cigarette on something that is flammable?
