The volunteer spirit

Way to go Karen. It is nice they recognized you for your tireless volunteer efforts, but I know that is not why you do it. You do it because you truly care about the people and your community. Enjoy the attention; and then, it's time to get back to work!

I'm a little lost with this article. The article is about a VOLUNTEER award yet the article says she WORKED at the community center since 1992. She's risen to the role of administrator (isn't that a paid position)?

No. Karen receives no pay for her work. She averages 80 hours a week and EBCC is lucky to have Karen. KUDOs Karen.
