Hey, according to Sarah Palin, once you realize you're a lame duck, you should just step down to move forward while keeping your eye on the ball and not be a dead fish, you betcha!

Hey, Roland, step down now!

I WISH it wasn't true Senator. But I'm sure you put a lot of serious thought to making a decision.
ALL the WHITE bigots and racists and those of Durbin's and Reid's ilk I'm sure are jumping for great joy.

Obama was too busy checking out a 16 year old girl's booty at the G8 summit to pay attention to his Democrat crook buddy, Roland.

Burris is another subverter of democracy. And proud of it, too. I pledge allegiance to the Chicago Machine. Hey, Burris what are you going to tell those kids at the Chicago High Schools? "Let them eat cake?"

I hope we never have to see that smirky little grin from this scam artists ever again on our newscasts. But, who is the black person to move into the seat next, Jackson Jr.? This has been defined by local ministers and black politicians as a black seat from now on.

Maybe Burris's recent embarrassing ride thru Lakeview (rabid liberal land) during the Gay Pride Parade woke him up to reality. When the liberal masses are booing you and chanting "crook crook crook" at you-it's over.

Oh yeah, it must be racism. Yawn. Get a life and stop playing the victim.

Ahhhh and the reason he won't run again is he now knows he's in over his head and everyone around him knows it and responds to him as an idiot who shouldn't even be there.

I hope that John does a thorough study of Florida politicians. The grass is not greener on his side. Let's see what is in the cards for Crist. Many Florida politicians have fallen harder than Burris. John knows who I am speaking about.

There are plenty of tombstones

Roland Burris may think he is getting what he wanted, namely the prestige of having been a Senator during his somewhat tarnished and less-than-distinguished career, and grant it, he may end up collecting a nice hefty pension for all the trouble he had to endure, the majority of it the results of his own hand.

But he will never be able to say that at any time during his mercifully short tenure as a Senator that he ever really accomplished anything. No bill he sponsored passed, no new legislation resulted from any of his actions. He will have to settle for the fact that he was pretty much a do-nothing during his short two year term.

Perhaps he can, at the very least, have the words "seat warmer" etched into the walls of that grand and glorious tomb he will one day occupy. Because when all is said and done, that is all he will be known to have done during his time in the Senate.

How that can be considered anything even coming close to an accomplishment defies reasonable explanation.

Burris's unscrupulous ambition and wheeling-dealing come back to bite him. If he had showed some integrity and resisted the urge to beg Blago for the Senate seat, he could have jumped into the ring in 2010 as a legitimate contender, untainted (at least with respect to any association with Blago). Now he can shuffle off into obscurity and work on his mausoleum.

I'm an Independent. I'm offended by pretty much all of them.

This may be the first time since his appointment that Burris is actually acting on the best interests of the constituents he is supposed to represent. I just hope he leaves quietly and fades away into oblivion.

He can also add the word "punch line" to his tombstone.

Why bother?

He got his wish, he can now say he was senator, he'll get his pension, and like our illustrious president, he basically used this position to his own benefit rather than the benefit of the people he pledged to serve.

So what else is new?

Well of course he's not. He just wanted the position so he could retire and get the Senator's pension. What a loser.
There is no pension for this partial term he is serving. They did a segment on CNN- AC360 and made that clear.
