Food stamp recipients getting increase in funding

Use coupons folks & you can get brand name items for free. I do it every week. No joke. Last Friday I got a large brick of Sorrento mozzarella cheese for 29 cents. Some things wind up being 9 cents, or even free. If you cut the coupons, pay attention to their expiration dates & store sales you can get food at prices from decades ago. Make sure you go to a grocery store that always doubles the coupons also. It nto only nets you freebies but offsets the cost of gas & many other things.

People's incomes are falling, as are prices. The working people are being squeezed. But those that don't (and in a lot of cases-never have) worked are getting increases.

The Feds and states will raise taxes until the last working person says "enough" before the government cuts the handouts to the non-working underclass.

If they are increasing the benefits they need to take the time to weed out those who LIE ON THE APPLICATIONS FOR ASSISTANCE. It's wrong that the working people of this country are supporting the bad choices of the twentysomthings while our senior citizens who worked get little or nothing!

I have done work at the welfare office.
It is all hispanics taking care of hispanics. The intake people are the one's they should investigate.

Why must you be so damn racist? White people or Black people never need help? Allentown has been a craphole for years anyway, regardless of who has come into the city. Plenty of people of all races have trouble making ends meet in that dump.

Just one more incentive not to get a job. Now they can by even more soda.

The price of nearly all food products went down, not up, since last year. So why should the food stamp allotment go up?

Food stamps, didn't it get changed to nutrition card or something.

If we are to have a welfare system, then fine, but let's make some changes.

If you want public assistance, then you MUST adhere to the following criteria:

You forgot to e-verify them to make sure they're in the country legally, valid photo id to make sure they aren't double dipping and fingerprint (same reason).

I 100% agree and love your suggestions. I'd like to add my own.

#5 Mandatory home visits to see what the welfare funds are being spent on. If you have a hi-def flat screen tv and a freezer full of name brand high dollar items (think steak, and other "luxury" foods..) the food stamps will be taken and used to stock food banks and folks who abuse the system can get their food from there.
