To be honest, I have no idea who that is.

<quoted text> Where is the rest of it.. the article while interesting does not tell me anything. Essentially I want the actual study not what was reported on a website for job seekers..
All you have here is an article that while interesting really for the purpose of a debate means zero..
As you brought it up I thought you would have the study. Not an article that can mean anything the author wants. So either find the study or I will simply presume that you dug up something interesting, but that at the end means nothing..
Best I can do for now

Yes you were....with the "dear". And you're doing it again.....sweetie. And yes, you could've ignored my post. What the hell does that have to do with the fact that you did respond and it was patronizing ? Your logic is baffling.
You weren't trying to help me out. I was trying to help the name callers see that regardless of the context, name calling only diminishes the one doing it. Instead of maturely acknowledge my logical post you immaturely try to rationalize the name calling. Grow up...honey.

The ones about the Catholic Church are horrible. But you may be right
Alright, I've gone through enough of these to see your point; there are plenty of us on BOTH sides that are guilty of demonizing the opposing side.
However, this does not excuse the sweeping generalization that you made earlier. You implied that everyone on the pro-choice side of the aisle is "hate-filled" when you replied to "quid-pro-quo."
I'm sorry if you feel that the Catholic church is getting an unfair drubbing here, but the truth of the matter is, "Time moves forward," no matter what your system of beliefs happens to be.
Do you still believe that Galileo was wrong, and that a Geocentric view of the Solar System is valid?
C'mon Ink! I don't mind fencing with you at all, but seriously...you can do better than this!

I will admit that this study is interesting. However I will keep an eye out for any future studies on this phenomenon. There could be some early development of hearing going on that is not as understood as first thought. There is still much to be studied before any definitive conclusions can be reached.

It looks like what the researchers are looking at is whether the fetus is being harmed or not. Not whether the fetus can understand the noises. The fetus as far as I can tell from the article is not responding in an intelligent, but rather in a reflexive manner.

I think you were, or perhaps are, trying to prove that a fetus can act in a intelligent manner that is more than a reflex. A reflex does not denote, nor is it indicative, of awareness.

No, I've not said that Catholicism is outdated or irrelevant.
When I brought up Catholicism in my post I was trying to address the
persistent attitude that "nothing-is-wrong," whenever something calls their interpretation of Scripture into question.

Oh, yeah, that is a great idea. You ask the fetus and when you get your answer, let us know.
In the mean time, ponder this: IF a fetus had a brain that could form decisions, why would a fetus have more decision making power than a born child?
Since the fetuses brain function equals that of a brain dead born person, and other fulling functioning born people make termination decisions for the brain dead born person, the mother can make the decision to terminate her pregnancy as is her right.
Even a born child does not have the legal capability of making its own decisions until it reaches the age of 18. Mom makes all the decisions until then, too. This may even include withholding life saving medical treatments due to religious objections.
So, while I am sure YOU think you made some kind of clever comment here, you actually expose the reason there is nothing wrong with abortion, other than the delusions you have created in your own head, based on your myth of choice, that makes it wrong FOR YOU.
Under the laws of the United State of America, you are not allowed to force your personal myth belief on others.
So, unless you can come up with an actual logical and rational argument against abortion, it looks like you are done here.
But, thanks for playing along!
The pro lifers have brought logical and rational facts that prove abortion is wrong, it is killing a baby in the womb, a life with potential but you pro aborts just hide behind the law that has decriminalized it.

I'm not really trying to prove anything. It's just interesting to see that as technology improves with ultrasound and other studies, we can see ,if you're honest, that these are little human beings and maybe we should think differently than we did 2000 years ago or even 200 years ago. Maybe abortion should be an absolutly last resort after all other options are exhausted.
