While Baraboo is great the Wisconsin Dells is a typical over priced tourist trap.(this was not always the case but greed has over come this once great town)
As locals will tell you--everything from groceries to gas gets marked up just in time for Memorial day the official start of "The Season".
Few attractions warrant the long lines and price. "The Deer Park" is one of the exceptions but not motive enough to waste a vacation on.
Add to this an un-happy population not at all thrilled to see the season begin and what you have is a recipe to throw good money away.
Stay in Baraboo or other towns in the area and drive the 10 minutes to one of the water parks or which ever attraction is chosen.
Reedsburg is one such town like Baraboo within range and is a wonderful town.
Take your meals or grocery shopping in these other towns as well.
You will save a bundle and experience Wisconin's beauty and most important--control your entrance/time within what is called "The Dells".

It's a wonderful place for the family to vacation. There are many, many deals to find by going on line to the various dell.com web sites.
With good research you can find good values for your dollar.
Just google Wisconsin Dells and look!

You can escape to Baraboo where you will discover the serene, natural charm of central Wisconsin. Our quaint village is just up the street from Devil's Lake State Park, surrounded by quiet forests, rolling farmlands, and panoramic views of the majestic Baraboo bluffs, yet close to the thrills in the WI Dells. Baraboo also boasts a quaint, comfortable, and affordable vintage American "mom & pop" motel near the State Park (Willowood Inn) which offers guests a peaceful glimpse of days gone by. The Baraboo area offers activities to a wide variety of travelers, including: outdoor enthusiasts, thrill seekers, historians, naturalists, or those looking for some quiet R&R. Check out the Baraboo Chamber of Commerce web page at baraboo.com We welcome visitors to our town and know that you will have a truly wonderful Wisconsin experience here in Baraboo.

The best place to find coupons and deals is dells.com by far. Great new section called mydells lets you read and interact with other visitors to the websit.

Daily Horoscope for November 8

Pisces

The Moon travels through Leo and your sixth house of health today, reminding you to take better care of yourself. Ironically, it seems you must spend most of your time taking care of others. Make a toast to your health today... acknowledge the fact that if you don't take good care of yourself, you won't be of much service to others.
