No John, the dead certainly don't deserve this. How despicable.

No burial for me - I want to be cremated, and my ashed dispersed somewhere with acidic soil. Maybe I can help something pretty grow.

There you go - cremate me and put my ashes in the bunker he11 that is the newly-refurbished Dubsdread. I hit at least one of those effers on 15 of the 18 holes.

So you never heard of Adolph Hitler, Josef Stalin, Herrod the Great, King David, Ariel Sharon, Pot Pol, John Gacy, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden? Get a grip, they are dead. Ask Jerry Cruncher. You know the man with the rusty fingers. Go read a little Charles Dickens or Shakespeare once in awhile. I am more concerned why Tom Dart doesn't go after more hardened criminals, since we all are still living? We can sort out the Canasta deck later on with Jokers when we all are in heavan or hell. For right now this doesn't rise to sh-ite in the main scheme of things. Go take on some drug dealers, gun runner gang bangers Dart, then I will take another look at your resume.

This story is disgusting. It is sad that you can find 4 people to conspire to do something like this outside of politicians using eminent domain as an excuse.

<quoted text>This comment is out of line. They picked people who had been dead for years, unmarked graves, and graves that were never visited, by all news accounts. I've only visited my Grandparents graves once, although I loved them. Visiting a gravesite is not my idea of a way to remember them. My father, on the other hand, I see every summer. He wanted to be creamated, and we fullfilled his wishes. Then we dumped his ashes in all the sandtraps and water hazards he never seemed to avoid when we played golf together. We got him into a number of courses, just in case some turn into housing developments. He is where he belongs, and we get out to see him, and always in a good mood. The folks that have relatives at this place are not to be blamed, the idiots scamming the money are the ones to blame. Greedy individuals, with no class, morals, or brains. Let em rot in jail, don't blame the families.
Let's cut through the BS shall we? You "visiting" your dad is really just you going to play golf.

Did anyone see the good side of this? Aside from these poor people getting ripped off, and the obvious disrespect for the dead, at least the perps were engaged in RECYCLING the cemetary plots. Yep! I bet their lawyers will offer a similar defense. Gotta love those lawyers!!!

It's time for the dead to go green. All caskets need to be biodegradable. I wonder what will happen in the next 500 years when the population triples. We can't keep using up land to bury people.

I did see Jesse Sr. on a news report Friday and he said "There is a special place in Hell for these people," refering to the scammers. This is probably the only time I'll ever agree with him, but a quote like that sounds real weird coming out of a "reverend" who supposedly teaches tolerance and forgiveness.

That's a good point. All the media attention over what happened in Burr Ridge, and it is horrible, and yet the city of Chicago is trying to do exactly the same thing in their runway expansion in Bensenville, in forcibly moving graves that living relatives don't want moved, strictly for money. The only difference is that Chicago has the law on their side. But what they're doing is just as evil.
Not that they had the "law" on their side as much as the courts, with their politically-well-connected friends in the black robes making all the rulings in Emperor Richie's favor!

If you think Jesse has a personal interest in helping others you are beyond help. His interest isn't people. His interest is Jesse Jackson. He is a scam artist. He is a publicity hound.

He is many things, but compassionate and caring are not included.

He will dash in, make his speech, stick around so long as its newsworthy, and then disappear. Having scammed a few people, made some media friends, and found some people to line his pockets.

And he'll usually find a racial angle to most situations.

His act rarely includes accountability for criminals and thugs. Its usually business, govt, police, etc., are the problem in Jesse's warped brain.

He is useless.

My uncles are saying that my great-gran and grandmother and her siblings are fine and are in a section that they can still get to. My other family members including my grandfather are in the taped off crime scene. We now have to wait and see. If they destroyed records I have no idea how they are going to research anything.

Cremation is the way I am going to dispose of my loved ones. No chance for desecration. The digging up of these bodies is a disgusting thing that was done. I wonder what the penalty is for this crime.
Er, why is it somehow better or less of a desecration to "dispose" of your "loved ones" by incinerating them in a diesel-fired kiln, then pulverizing the bones in an electric grinder, then bottling up the dust in an urn or later dumping out the dust somewhere?

I sadly have at two loved ones who's graves I can never visit and mourn because they were cremated with no funeral and dumped somewhere by their damn kid (one, by her lawyer). Burial isn't perfect but it at least offers a headstone and a quiet place to remember that a person actually existed on this earth and was remembered by others.

And FYI, there have been countless instances over the years of crematory operators getting caught returning ashes of unknown origins, mixing cremations, etc. There are always unscrupulous people in the death business, and crematories are not without their own scandals.

If you go back and read my comment you responded to I said it was the most horrible thing "I" have ever felt. Yes I have heard of the other things, but none of them have personally affected *ME*. To think of my Grandmother who suffered indignities being born black in the South in the early 1900's, who lived through the civil rights movement and spent the last 10 years of her life going back and forth through dialysis having to suffer indignities even in death, to have her bones tossed around like she was garbage is just too much to think about. Maybe you never loved anyone in your life but for me, this is horrific and my heart is very heavy. My Grandmother did not deserve to be treated this way in death and the criminals who perpetrated these acts are despicable and need to pay.

I completely agree with you. Its obviously Dan Hynes fault - not the four cemetery workers who actually perpetrated the crime. I was looking for a whitey to blame so to take the heat off my four brothers and sisters. The was manipulated by THE MAN.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Cancer

You've had enough time to yourself lately. This is a day to focus on family, with all the good and bad that that brings. Crabs would much rather be at the top of the tree than down near the roots, but that's life. You might be smart when it comes to matters of the heart, but you don't know it all quite yet.
