After lunch on a Wednesday, I mixed up a batch of homemade play dough for a pre-school program the next morning. I used food coloring to tint it bright yellow, rolled it into 12 little logs, bagged the logs in 12 separate little plastic bags, put all the little bags in one big plastic bag, and put the big bag in the office refrigerator. Only full-time library staff used this refrigerator.

When I went to get the play dough first thing the next morning, it was gone. The ingredients are flour, salt and salad oil! Can you imagine taking a bite of that? Can you imagine *wanting* to take a bite out of one of those little yellow logs?

I worked for a local police department and food got stolen there like you would not believe. Once I put food in the microwave and was called away for a few minutes. When I returned the food was gone but they left the container. I kept hungry snacks - popcorn, crackers, instant coffee and chocolate stuff like that- in my desk drawer. It got so bad with stealing I started putting unopened kotex and tampax on top of it. These were people who were making good money, driving good cars and they were always stealing food. I then got transferred to a unit with civilian and police officers. One clerk was experiencing hard time so she brought her lunch. You guessed it somebody stole it. I dont understand why people steal other people's food. Except for the underpaid cleaning crews most people who steal others lunches usually have enough money to either get a lunch or order one. I always felt persons caught stealing lunches should be fired and labeled a theif.

You are a genius, using feminine products to ward off food thiefs. What does that tell you about the people (probably men, I'm guessing)-- they were more afraid of an unopened, clean feminine product than of another human being's germs. Hey, whatever worked.
Why was one of the original post's words starred out? Nothing was offensive!!!

Do what I did. I got one of those old metal kids lunchboxes and fashioned a lock on it to hold a small luggage sized padlock. NO ONE messes with my lunch now.

Amazing that even in a police department, people are stealing food from one another. I LOVE the Tampax idea. Must remember this in the future...LOL!

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Sagittarius

You're in the mood to spend today, especially on the spur of the moment. Be careful if you can't afford to make any impulse purchases, because a lack of cash won't stop you! If you do decide to splash out on something, you may be disappointed when you get it home and you might even decide to take it back.
