When old John Complain loses, he will have written the final chapter of a long and self-congradulatory government career, one spent entirely at the taxpayer's expense. Old John Complain has never held a job in the private sector and has always taken his pay straight from the U.S. Treasury. Maybe that's why he's so fascinated by "Joe the Plumber". He marvels at someone's ability to make money in the open market.(Even though it turns out even Joe, like old John, is a right-wing gimmick.)

If you're real quiet, you can hear hell freezing over. Congratulations to the Tribune editorial board for having the courage to put quality before dogma. You've made the correct choice and hopefully on November 4th, the United States will as well.

I'm thrilled that Tribune has finally risen to the occasion. We need an A student with vision---not a D student who picks another D student in order to pander to women voters.

We need someone who will heal the country instead of driving wedges.

I'm glad the Tribune has finally gotten over its need to reflexively endorse the GOP candidate. Two endorsements of Bush means the Trib has a hand in Katrin and Iraq and this is its first step toward redemption.

Congratulations on a thoughful and cogent argument for endorsing Obama. These are tough times, and while McCain may have been a tremendous president in a different era (say, oh, eight years ago), Obama now is the best choice to address the issues that are important and to move forward.

Newspapers shouldn't endorse candidates for public office because it interferes with objectivity in reporting. I'm disappointed that the traditionally conservative Tribune has endorsed a socialist for president.

Are we supposed to be surprised? I don't think a newspaper has any business officially endorsing anyone. Let your readers decide without your obvious bias.

Excellent endorsement! Once again, it is clear to me that McCain's utterly irresponsible pick of the supremely unqualified Sarah Palin as VP has backfired!

Well, what else could we expect when all of your columnists and editorials have been one sided against the Republicans. What a sad, sad day for the Tribune. Chicago's slimy politicians win again and your board claims to be against the politics in Chicago. Just wait and see what we get in IL and the US now.

What a sellout. The least experienced candidate of all time and one about whom there are serious and large gaps in history. Shame on the Trib.

thank god you've finally come to your senses! too bad you were not able to come to this same conclusion in 2004. granted, kerry is no obama, but against W, even kerry looks like a super star.

if the editorial staff at the tribune had not managed to bring itself to support obama, i was 100% ready to cancel my subscription to the paper.

well done.

The transition from a reputable newspaper to a liberal rag -- a colorful rag like the USAToday nonetheless -- is now complete. I'll read this paper like I read People magazine -- for tabloid tidbits and photos.

Given the one-sided nature of your coverage of Obama, I am not surprised

Wow! I have a pretty good memory but I don't recall the Tribune ever endorsing a Democratic Candidate for President of the U.S. That is astounding. Now if the Cubs could only win the World Series.......

Daily Horoscope for November 27

Virgo

Going out could be dangerous on this wild and woolly day when anything can happen. You'll need to expect the unexpected and take special care in public places. Your friends and associates may need your assistance but they may also be a drain on your resources and your sanity. Romance can be exhilarating but may be tinged with just a touch of obsession.
