That's one thing I don't have to determine.
My husband left town yesterday morning and I'm thoroughly enjoying my alone time. Thanks, Angelique. |

For those of us who are hooked on Topix:
Last night my friend and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug." She promptly got up, unplugged the computer and threw out my wine. |

To make everyone feel especially welcome here are two of the lovely Terri's recipes:
Martini: 1 shot chambord 1 shot pineapple juice 1 shot vodka Champagne Add chambord, pineapple juice and vodka to a flute glass, then fill with Champagne. Toast and enjoy! ---------- Plymouth French 75 1 oz. Plymouth gin 1 oz. lemon juice 2 bar spoons simple syrup Top with champagne (or sparkling wine) Shake Plymouth gin, lemon juice and simple sugar with ice and strain into a chilled champagne flute. Top with champagne and garnish with a lemon twist. (Created around 1925 at Harry's New York Bar in Paris) A votre sante! |

Hi guys. I have to make dinner for the younger ones in my family- tomorrow I have to get up early for a union meeting-(9-9 stay over night and 8-6 the next day except i have to leave early on sunday as I am hosting a 21st birthday dinner for my youngest's BF. Only 7 of us at dinner and i am not cooking- BBQ restaurant- finger licking good. But not an innies ideal weekend. I did say early on when someone asked if I was an innie that I was in my private life but at work and union I wasn't...there's also a man I like at the union stuff but he has told me he is NOT looking for a relationship- but we can still be friends...ah well....it's still fun and I could always use a friend.he's originally from some chicago suburb too. OK off to cook and bake- have to bring brownies to the meeting to share with those who agree with me...the others -well they can make their own snacks....I didn't say I was always nice! |

Hee hee. I hope you'll share those brownies with us. Does anyone have a really good brownie recipe? The union meetings I attended never server brownies. <pout> Too bad about the guy you like not wanting a relationship.:( |

I always get help from Duncan or Betty when I make brownies. I've started using applesauce instead of cooking oil again, mostly because I use so little oil except olive that it sits in my pantry and gets old. I think I'll try making brownie balls for Christmas this year. My red velvet cake balls were wonderful and the people I gave them to really liked them. I could see mixing the cooked brownies with white or chocolate icing and then coating them in white or milk chocolate. |

A helicopter had been dispatched to save twenty-one people. Twenty men and one woman were all hanging from the rope dangling from the helicopter.
Unfortunately, the rope could only hold twenty people, so one had to let go of the rope. No-one volunteered until the lone woman spoke up: I'll let go of the rope," she began. "As a woman I've sacrificed for my parents, my husband and my children. I'll make another sacrifice." Upon hearing the woman make this moving speech, all twenty men began clapping. |

You can make a chocolate cake and put a bottle of red food coloring in it, or use the red velvet cake mix--I think it was Betty Crocker. I usually don't like canned icing and prefer to make that from scratch, but the canned cream cheese icing worked great. Go to http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2007/12/red-vel... for more detailed instructions. I recommend buying a cookie scoop (a melon baller might work, too) so they will be uniform in size. I think the white coating is prettier for the red velvet. At Christmas, I bought paper cups and tins and sprinkled them with red sugar. The fun thing about cake balls is that you can take any favorite kind of cake and icing and use it. My MIL makes an orange slice cake. We've got a cake ball bakery in Dallas now, and they sell them for $2 each. |

Testing.
I finally signed up, so I want to see what the picture looks like. This is the stained glass dome that my husband did for our library. |

I use the Bakers chocolate recipe and I think it is wonderful- if you really want a sugar over load you can frost them. I am also making chocolate chip cookies from scratch....I like to keep those that agree with me happy since they can vote and I can't. I just go to rabble rouse I am not a voting member of this particular committee. |
