Having a flash back here about my Hawks when they played against the Wings for a stanley cup one of Redwings player was scare of Patrick Kane I do not want to specify the name of the player but I do recall he said... I better stop him to get the puck in anyway I could with my size, knowing Kane's how good he is he would be creating something with the puck to pass Osgood.

Enough said about the Wings. Chelio's would never played that way.
Congrats Penquins.

I am so happy we finally did it! I couldn't stop cheering when I finally heard Mike Lange say Lord Stanley, scratch their names on your fabled cup - the Pittsburgh Penguins are Stanley Cup Champions 2009 (http://www.entertonement.com/clips/ywxbhhghtb... ) You guys did it with class and with heart!

Great to see the Penguins win and lift the Cup in Detroit. It was so nice to see Detroit who every TV announcer was gushing over lose. Hossa I wonder how he feels today.
Tim, you usually make sense on here. Every announcer had their lips firmly placed on the Penguins behinds even when the refs missed calls at a ratio of about 5 to 1 favoring the Penguins. Don't let your irrational hatred/jealousy of the Wings cloud your judgement.

I would think you'd want to keep the cup in the Western Conference.

Its hard for me to imagine that at one time - back in the 70s and early 80s - that I actually felt sorry for the Wings and their fans. So long they had been suffering...and even a young Steve Yzerman and a Bob Probert in his prime could only make them good enough to get annihilated by the Oilers in the playoffs.
I was actually happy for them when they broke through for their '97 Cup win...I mean those fans had suffered and waited for so long and they're an original 6 team and all...
But when the Blackhawks went through their darkest period - they showed absolutely no empathy for our plight. Worse still, they trash talked and instigated beyond belief. A team and fanbase that I ONCE respected I now loathe and despise beyond words.
Congrats to the Pens! Thank you a thousand times over for silencing this abomination of a fan base at least for the time being. Reading some comments on their board is pretty laughable. Wang nuts claim Bettmen and the refs conspired to win the series for the Pens. Some of their fans are so deluded they call their team the best team in all pro sports (I'll take the Canadiens/Yankees or the Champion Oilers 1984-1990 over the Wings any day but that's just me).
CHICO -you are correct. The pendulum is swinging away from Detroit. They are likely a bit past their apex now, and I really think the Hawks/Jackets/Blues will take a big toll on them during the regular season. I'd happily root for any other team (even the Nucks) over the Red Wings. Go Hawks! Go Jackets! Go Blues! Go Oilers!!! ANYONE BUT THEM!!!
You are projecting. I've gone to games at both the Joe and United. The Hawks fans are far, far nastier. Just reading your post shows how childish you are. How sad for you.

5-1 ratio favoring the Penguins? Announcers favoring the Penguins? I think you're the one letting irrationality cloud your judgment, pal. And please don't embarrass yourself by suggesting an NHL conspiracy.

Well said, Section 317.
Chirpers (RW fans) have a very short memory and very big mouths.
There's almost nothing worse than a group of fans who feel their team is entitled a championship and proceed to talk incessantly about it.
Congrats to the Pens!!!
Not all RED WING fans are like what you guys are saying! Some of us appreciate HOCKEY more than others. Don't judge all RED WING fans by a few JERKS!!!!! GO WINGS!!!!

I agree. These idiots chirped and chirped about how the Pens were frauds who didn't deserve to be there (according to them, no team did--the only decent thing would have been for Bettman to hand the Wings the Cup at the end of the regular season). Now that they've been resoundingly proven wrong, they're humiliating themselves by claiming that only a conspiracy could have robbed their boys of their divine right. It's official--the most pathetic fan base in the nation. Cowboy fans can now breathe a sigh of relief.

A few jerks? A few???

Look, usually I don't like to paint a whole group of people with one big wide paintbrush, but since the beginning of the playoffs I can count the number of rational and classy RW fans that have posted to the Topix forums on one hand. If you don't like to be associated with the Chirpers, I suggest you tell them to pipe down the next time they flood these forums with enough BS to fill JLA up to the ceiling.

Nice kick to the groin olduffman, but gutless is only half the descriptor... OriginalIdiot and his buddies are also spineless. Anyone can talk smack but it takes class and even courage to show up and eat crow. The funny thing is, had they done that, 99% of the people on this forum would have cut them some slack.

I consider myself one of the more grounded contributers to this board and you can't tell me "Doc" Emrick didn't come in his pants every time the Wings had a scoring chance. Gary Greene was asking Wings players before game 6 how they were containing their excitement considering what "they were about to experience tonight". 5 to 1 ratio? That's an embarrassing remark. I'm with Tim on this one.
Hatred / jealousy? What is there to be jealous of? Here we both sit. Cupless. What do 1961 and 2008 have in common? They're both GONE. His-toe-ree!!!!! It'll be nice to see the Cup spend more time in North America this summer.

I enjoyed sharing some comments on this site during the Stanley Cup playoffs. I regret that I was not able to get online sooner to congratulate Pens fands on the win. It's a good thing for Hockey. Unfortunately I had some things occur that prevented me from being able to access my computer for several days.

Into each life a little rain must fall, and certainly having something "real" happen puts sports entertainment into proper perspective. Enjoy the summer fellow hockey fans.

I hope you're okay, too, Octo. You were one of two class acts on the Detroit side during this tilt, and it was a pleasure bantering with you.

I agree. If I recall from last year, I don't think the redwings to many boos when they received the cup in Pittsburgh. I'm sure there were some, but I don't recall as much as tonights. I had the pens out of the playoffs in february. To barely make it in, then end up winning the cup is a great accomplishment. Detroit is a strong team though, and they played their hearts out this series.
Get your facts straight they were booing BETTMAN!!!! The Little POOP!

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Aries

You're feeling practical and sensible today, so it's great for getting on with some of the Christmas preparations. The idea of saving money appeals to you now, and if you're browsing around the supermarket looking for festive food you might be so horrified by some of the prices that you decide to make your own instead. This will give you a real feeling of satisfaction.
