A woman was killed and two other people were slightly injured in a traffic crash Friday afternoon on the city's Southeast Side, Chicago police said.

i didn't notice there were comments already on here... but Miss concered person.. I actually live right down the block...(on the corner is a funeral home, bank, knights of columbus and the corner she died is the Rivera's family house my friend's family.. dont believe me, look it up or drive by it)... the HISPANIC people were the ones HURT in the accident, so they weren't wearing their seat belts.. it was a young BLACK girl WHO RAN THE RED LIGHT while on the PHONE.. she knew it was RED and still took it. the woman who was killed, she FLEW OUT OF THE CAR and while her car was spinning out of control, it ran her over and she was under it and died right away. thats why I wrote my last comment that all the information was not true. I hope that girl gets life because of her ignorance... and Miss Concered Person, karma. |

This comment bored is public I know, but are the ignorant comments needed? The deceased is MY COUSIN! How dare you question her legal status. Of course she is AMERICAN! Not only that,she was a WONDERFUL MOTHER OF 3! And no, she was not wearing her seatbelt, but she was the PASSENGER in the vehicle. She lost her life because some little girl found it necessary to drive and talk on the phone at the same time and made the choice to drive through a RED LIGHT. So think before you speak. People are grieving and don't need your negativity!

I would like to say that we all need to take the proper precautions when driving. Wear your seatbelts!!! Stop talking on the phone or trying to send text messages while driving!!
When these laws are followed correctly many people will be able to avoid having to lose a loved one so suddenly. She was a wonderful mother of 3 & her children as well as her family & friends will dearly miss Maria. We are all broken inside but will all strive to make sure her babies are well taken care like she would have wanted. |

As for the RACIST people on this bored. Did you know that a WHITE MAN has recently commited several rape's and attempted kidnappings in our neighborhood. A WHITE MAN commited these crimes!! Did you see our minority communities blaming all the white men out there for the crimes he has committed? Did you make these same comments when a group of white kids wear drinking and driving and killing eachother as well? What makes you think it is the minorites ONLY who commit these mistakes? Look in the mirror you idiot and realize that one day it could be you or your loved one who can be taken by someone of the same race! WE ARE ALL PEOPLE REGARDLESS OF COLOR! wow, bickering still going on over this. why dont you people light a candle and put some flowers on the corner where she passed? I just put a rosarie there on the cross thats there. instead of all the negative talk back and forth... because you know NO ONE ON HERE will EVER END it.. do something positive. if you feel you need to say something NEGATIVE, move on to the next story and read.. and continue on till theres nothing left for you to read... because the family who lost their loved ones, dont need to see what you want to write. They have enough heartache in their life.

Alway put yourselves in the person or family shoes before you write comments on these sites. How about always saying something comforting instead of negative. I pray for this family not just because I know them but, that pain and lost is something that is very difficult to deal with. God Bless you all and I am sure God will give you the strength you need at this time. Lucky Maria had those 3 Babies and she will always live within them. |

I saw her family crying for her this morning in church... it is VERY obvious it was a mistake that she did not wear a seatbelt and I am sure the children she left behind will mourn her death! Its okay. I think that persons comments have been removed which we all can greatly appreciate. I believe people who knew her have commented she did have children. Whether she does or she doesn't, she was a loved young woman who died too soon. Its especially hard in light of it being an accident that didn't have to happen if people would stop running lights and talking on cell phones. That other woman, gets to walk away from this. But I hope she spends every day of her life remembering what she took and that it was 110% her fault due to pure selfishness.

I just wanted to say Thank You for the kind comments. I made the post under the name "FAMILY" on saturday. I appreciate everyone trying to keep the negative commenters off this bored. My cousin Maria will surely be missed!
