everyone? you're assuming everyone uses this app. i can say with certainty, the places i've worked do not. it is, however, interesting to know that such an app exists. Our Peoplesoft hiring app is the same as everyone else's.

Judged: 1 I think I'll go with what a lawyer for the EEOC says over what some computer program says: As the letter says: "Justine Lisser, lawyer and spokeswoman for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington (eeoc.gov )... says: While the question itself of whether you have children is not illegal if posed to both men and women." |

Judged: 1 I just realized the point you were making was about th legality of the question and not concerning whether "everyone" records every question asked of a candidate. carry on. |

Sorry, but it's an illegal question, and therefore not "legit." And I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that it is NOT asked of the male candidates. |

Sorry, but it's NOT an illegal question. I don't know if you even bothered to read it, but once again, as the letter CLEARLY and UNAMBIGUOUSLY says: "Justine Lisser, lawyer and spokeswoman for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington (eeoc.gov )... says: "the question itself of whether you have children is NOT ILLEGAL if posed to both men and women." If a WOMAN from the EEOC is saying it's not illegal, I'm pretty sure it's not illegal, regardless of your firm belief and what a software product says. I'll also take your bet. There's not one iota of evidence that it's not asked of men. How would you know or she know whether that was the case. Were you or the LW at these interviews? The fact of the mater is, your belief is completely unfounded and 100% pure speculation. When I interviewed for my current job and my previous job, the fact that I had a wife and children came up during discussions. It seems quite natural to me that it would, when discussing who I am. Fortunately, I got the jobs, but even if I didn't I'm not so paranoid and whiny as to think I didn't because people are out to get me because of my gender or parental status, like some people are. |

1. What Red said.
2. Yes, so let's teach our kids that, whenever a situation becomes uncomfortable, you just avoid it. 3. Cracks are whack. |
